You need to start using grammar symbols like '.' and '?' to make your post readable. This post belongs in the musicians equipment section...
On topic: You say you want to build a frankenstein strat but aswell have a frankenstein guitar with a non working pickup? I dont get it...

Re: inportant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think he is referring to Eddies original guitar. As the pick up area which is routed is empty but it has something in the gap which RWND is wanting to add to his build. Grammer what's that ?.

on a more serious note, I believe he's referring to the fact that one of the pickups
Ed had in there waaaay back, read 0 when measured with a multimeter
although this could have mutiple explanations
Re: inportant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh, that's the switch, or atleast what used to be the switch

Re: inportant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not sure why he even had the switch in there, its not hooked up to anything that actually works on the guitar.....I guess he wanted to fill in the gap
Re: inportant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you read the thread with the Randy John Stix interview, viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6859, it has a link to an online mag that is an Eddie special. He explains it all in there. It was to stop people copying his set up. Yes the front pick up was not connected and a selector switch is jammed into the mid pickup cut out. The hum bucker is not rewound by ed, but he says he dipped it in paraffin, I think it was paraffin, it was to stop the high output of the pickup feeding back so much.
Re: inportant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who knows if he did it to the pickup in the picture?shawn wrote:The hum bucker is not rewound by ed, but he says he dipped it in paraffin.
He sure did it to some of his early builds, but he's had
Ibanez Super 70s, custom Seymour Duncans and whatnot...
