Yeah, I use that on my kids now, too!NicDots wrote:I hate that argument, but it's logical.

I have many teacher friends in CA, so I feel for you. I think Schwarzanegger's hands are tied more then you might think. Don't you think the strain on the system caused by illegal immigration in California especially, is the cause for so much of the states financial problems? I realize they do put into the system some, but the income couldn't possibly compare to the outgo. Plenty of those Cali prisoners should not even be in the country, yet they each cost quite a bit of tax payer money (and get free health care).NicDots wrote:As for government doing what the majority of people want it to...I wouldn't hold your breath. I remember my parents voting for Schwarzanegger, thinking he'd have the public schools interests at heart. And look what's happening now. Teachers are getting laid off, mandatory furlogh days, sports and music programs cutting the chop. Unbelievable. When state prisons get more funding than a high school, there is something extremely messed up going on.
Jeez the world and every country in it has many issues to handle. None of us as countries are perfect let alone individuals.tedeeoo wrote:As we can all see from this thread, the U.S. has many issues to take care of, time will tell.
Could you please provide specifics on your system,Trigger wrote:Hi Mike
It is when I read stories like yours that I wonder how it is that people in your country still fight to resist social health care? The tax that we pay to cover our needs is nowhere close to your mum’s monthly payments; they are so small that they are not even on the same scale!
For me with access to our system and knowing its benefits I can't make sense of arguments that oppose social health care?
