I like some rap the same way I like some metal. Honestly, out of both genres, I'd say 90% of the musical output is subpar and boring. I don't let it bother me though, really. Any performer from any genre, as long as they have a passion for being creative (rather than strippers, etc), I can appreciate them.
I was going out with this country girl back in the early 90's and took her to Senior prom. I swear to God the theme for the prom was FOOTLOOSE. 
The music totally sucked but, unfortunately it's the world we live in so, just have to bare with it. Never got laid either.....
