At Sunday April 12, 1981 the first Space Shuttle launch:
(when Randy was still with us)

I was just in my early teens but I followed the whole thing on tv. I was obsessed by the whole thing for weeks already. The launch originally was scheduled for Friday 10 April, and I threatened my mother that I wouldn't go to school if I couldn't watch it there. So our teacher brought a tv in the class room 8) , we spend hours of watching but because of some technical problems the launch was re-scheduled to sunday 12 april.
Coincidentally exactly 20 years before, at 12 april 1961 Joeri Gagarin became the first man in space. :)

I was dead serious then! I wouldn't go if nothing else, I had to see it!
Remember that day at school I was the Shuttle specialist, I knew more about it than anyone else! (including my teacher!) Everybody was asking me!
I used to go to nasa.gov quit often but not that often anymore. Especially the weeks before my trips to Florida to check the launch schedules.
