Brad Delp of Boston

Since it hasn't been mentioned, I'd like to point out that Brad Delp, the singer of Boston, was found dead on Friday, March 9th, 2007 at the age of 55.

For everyone my age, Boston was a HUGE band. Their debut album, Boston is widely considered one of the two "perfect" albums ever released (the other being Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon).

I haven't thought much about Boston in years - we used to listen to Boston endlessly on the car tape deck in the '80's and I got a little burned out on it - but they were definitely one of my favorites for a long time.

Very sad news, I was never a big Boston fan but I do know that they earned a place in music history. At the time when Boston were a big act I was into Randy and a much harder edged rock music, I never gave them too much time. But respect where it's due and they have mine.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

That's very sad......
That guy had a golden voice. Those vocal overdubbings with his voice always sounded great! For sure Boston was a great band with great guitarsounds as well.
Weren't they working on a new Boston album right now.....?

Best Concert Ever

I saw Boston "outdoors" two years ago in San Antonio and I will tell you that it was the most amazing concert I've ever seen. Why? Well, for one thing it was during a thunderstorm. The last song they played was Foreplay and Long Time. Just as they cut into Long Time a 40 mph wind 'whooshed' through the audience and lightning completely filled the sky. It nearly knocked me down to the ground. Of course they could not do an encore after that song but then again how do you out top that? Everyone was talking for days about that concert no doubt. In my opinion, a stellar singer and one of a kind.

I am adding this bit of sad information about Brad's death:

On March 14, 2007 Delp's family revealed that his death was a suicide and he was found in his apartment by his girlfriend. His family gave no other information. Associated Press reported that, according the the New Hampshire medical examiner, Delp's death was the result of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Delp had consideration for the one(s) that found him by leaving notes on doors warning them about the carbon monoxide. Delp sealed the doors of the master bath with towels where two charcoal grills were used to generate the killer gas, as is typical in charcoal-burning suicide.

According to police reports released on March 15, 2007, Brad Delp was found dead in his bathroom on March 9, 2007 with a note that read:

Mr. Brad Delp. J'ai une ame solitaire. I am a lonely soul.
To be a teacher you must never stop learning yourself...
