Immortal Randy Rhoads out March 2015
This has been kept very quiet, some great players playing the old Ozzy and Randy tracks.

I hate the term "ultimate"... so overused.
But, yeah, could be a good disc.

Thanks for sharing Shaun, no idea how this flew so far under the radar. I'm not a fan of cover albums or many cover songs in general but man, that lineup playing SATO sounds awesome and really cool to see them throw in a few Quiet Riot tracks in there including one with Frankie. I'll be picking this up to hear for sure.

I personally don't fancy hearing ripper butcher most of the songs

Listening to the clips in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNNgFll2lwQ really doesn't make me interested in it. Like, 90% of the vocals are just Tim "Ripper" Owens, who may be a good singer and might be a good guy, but doesn't really do anything for me (Always sounds like he's "phoning in" these covers, same with his old cover of Mr. Crowley.)
I realize these are small clips and all, but they just feel like they lack any real emotion to me. All the guitars sound dull and so similar that it just seems like they hired some studio guitarist to come in and threw in a famous guitarist's name for shits and giggles.
Also, that clip of Goodbye to Romance makes me cringe. It sounds nice for the most part, Gus does a good job, but holy fuck was Tim a bad pick for that song. (Well, all of them, but particularly that one)

I don't think they picked anyone for the cd. It was whomever wanted to be part of it, and by the looks of it not many did resulting in crapola.
Even if they got a bunch of big name people it probably woiod have still sucked. Just never sounds right.

I can appreciate anything of Randy being put out. Whether it's a tribute album or little spinets of footage heavily saturated with Rudy's killer bass moves
; I can still appreciate it.

Yeah, probably will never listen to that again. I mean, I am trying just to look at it from an artistic point of view and I still don't like it. That solo, just no. Sorry Tom but you ruined it.
It also sounded like they just used the same fill for the 3 verses and chorus. Like they record it once but just plugged it in 3 times. Boring.

That's not any better than the rest of it.

While I love the fact that people are still paying tribute to Randy, this cover is horrible. Just absolutely brutal. I understand people are going to put their own spin on things, but man, this sounds bad.sytharnia wrote:well crazy train confirms how shit this is going to sound ... BLOODY awful
