How Did You Discover Randy Rhoads.....?

I discovered Randy when a kid a church camp played a tape of Crazy Train and Suicide Solution for me in 1981. Two weeks later Ozzy played the Paramount Theatre in Seattle and my life changed forever.

I heard Brad Gillis first, After that I got Blizzard Of Ozz album and I heard RR, cool guitar, even when he's dead he was compared to Van Halen, I saw it in a Circus Magazine

I got into Randy back in 1981....been a fan ever since!!! I even did an oral report on him in english class my freshman year...the only A I ever got in that class!!! lol

it first listen about him when i was at a sports class and i was having a discution about guitars and musicians thats and my sports teacher came up with hem and told me that he was the most briliant guitarist ever

and i said...

hay that's impossible Satriani rules man !!!!!!!

and he says...

when you arrive home today after class go to google and find something of him to hear ...

and that's my story it was about 2 years now

in the next two moths i bought the two ozzy albuns with him

I first heard Bark At The Moon a few years ago and thought it was the coolest song ever. Then a friend got Blizzard Of Oz and Bark At The Moon so I borrowed them. After hearing I Don't Know I was instantly amazed. I thought Randy was even better than Malmsteen, Angelo and Murrey/Gers/Smith who were at the time the best in my mind. I still do. The only guitarist who comes close in my mind is Tony Iommi because of his riffs. As a player though Randy is light years ahead of him though, in my opinion.

I first heard Randy by being introduced by my guitar teacher who saw him in concert. He said he saw the little guy Randy walk on stage, and after the first two songs he realized he was the greatest rock guitarist. I avidly listen to Randy's work and try to learn from his style of playing. Wish I could have seen him play.

Y'know I can't remember exactly how I found out about him but
I know it was in 1983 sometime.My step-brother Tim was probably
the one who turned me on to him~he was only 13 or 14 at the
time & adored Ozzy..he had posters plastered everywhere in
his room.

Of course I bought the BOO & DOAM tapes..&
later CD's..don't know if I've ever had "Tribute.. before but I
have heard it.
I have seen Ozzy live w/Zakk in 1989..I must say it was a rad
show overall.I would give anything to get into a time machine
& go back to 1981~be in the front row to see Randy perform..
