Well contributions would be a help as i couldn't buy this on my own. I'd only be getting the 30 mins from the HMH Port Vale gig and that would be on disc not the original. But how do you put a price on this without having to pay through the nose for it... ?

Before you even think of buying a copy ask him to send you a 10- 20 second clip from both crazy train and believer

A Fair price for a 30 year old VHS would be around $300-$600 depending on the quality of the tape (condition)
Why I say $300-$600 is because it's randy live and we have very little of live taped shows of randy

Do we have the soundboard or good bootleg of Port Vale?
Could we sync the footage and soundboard/bootleg

The guy would have to upload clips to be able to do this and he isn't very internet savvy.. I would forget about offering this amount of money that would be about £180.00 - £380.00 and the time you 'd be paying for to see Randy will be minutes if that.. How can you pull that ball park figure out of the air ??.

I thought you would be buying all of the footage (Motörhead included)

$300 for a few minutes of Randy live at port vale doesn't seem like a bad price!

How did you come in contact with this guy?

Hey if you can offer up $300 as a ball park figure i'll ask the guy and see if he'll do a deal on that price. I wouldn't be able to offer him £50.00 as i just don't see the price tag on this to be worthy. Yeah its rare but like anything that is rare when it hits the internet it's a freebie for everyone.

Wow thats a pretty cool find!!! I'll pitch in. I know there are others who would do the same. Ask him how much he wants.

Thanks for sharing Shaun! Definitely ask him if he'd be willing to sell! I think even if we got a few people to chip in, we'd be able to buy this footage no problems, even the Motorhead footage would just be great to see on it's own. Count me in for sure!

Well after asking the guy about how long Randy appears on the Live footage and other related questions i'm slowly being put off from this so called Rare film. I could end up paying a fortune for this and i could end up being very disappointed with the contents.. This is what the film contains....

...." I have to be honest and say that the actual footage of Randy himself is not very long at all - you are talking maybe 10 seconds in total and that's from a distance. I know that's not really good news for your fan club and it's always frustrated me...the fact that he was there with the camcorder and didn't get more close up stuff, especially back stage and side stage. Having said that he wasn't to know that Randy would get killed in a plane crash the following year!! Most of the footage DOESN'T show Tommy on the drums - that's just the view when Ozzy first goes on stage and the opening song (I Don't Know.) Of all the footage, Rudy Sarzo is the only one you never actually see. To be precise, the Ozzy footage lasts for around 8 minutes, this includes backstage, entrance, onstage and crowd shots during Crazy Train. There is footage of the crowd after Ozzy and before Motorhead come on, including the bottle fight and appeals to stop, and Helen Taylor (Phil's sister) rafflling off Lemmy's bullet belt on stage and telling the 44,000 fans to 'be quiet' - I remember it well. Ozzy then goes on stage and introduces Motorhead, the rest of the footage is of them onstage from numerous angles including close up stuff from the side and back of the stage....."

Ya it doesn't sound worth it at all...I had something typed out last night and forgot to hit submit i guess. Basically i was saying even if had a few minutes of Randy it would have only been worth in my mind about $500 because of the quality it appears to be.

What i was thinking we should do is IF PCM still has contact with the the phoenix brothers then to ask them how much they want for it bottom line. If we started a kick starter or alike donation program describing what we were after, I am sure we could easily raise about 10-20k for the brothers footage from world wide fans. Don't forget there are plenty of fans out there that would dump cash towards this if they knew something would be released. Of course it could not be officially released, but it could be leaked after payment from "whomever" may have it :D All it takes is a VPN and you could leak it from Cali but it would appear to be leaked/uploaded from China or something :D

I don't think PCM has contact with them anymore though..but i am sure they read the boards here anyway from time to time...

noble thought, but a Kickstarter campaign is bound to reach any official and thus it would
definately be shutdown and what would happen to the already donated money?

Kickstarter is the one i just remembered off the top of my head and not the one i would recommend probably to use, there is another i just can't think of the name right now for the life of me.

still, for it to reach the kind of money you're talking about, it won't go unnoticed

Shaun,

Excellent work, brother. Damn, you are just amazing for ferreting this out.

Do we know what his number is for the HMH footage or not?

I'm up for helping if the number is reasonable.
