I just wanted to say about this that there is a Facebook group, not ours that has just about 20,000 fans. These are of course fans at all different levels of interest. Our facebook page has just under 5,000 people but as others have said that there is a much smaller number that are actual fanatics who post, participate, and interact every day. I think Facebook is an interesting cultural guidepost because people for the most part have not more than 2 accounts, when your only allowed to have one. The group that has the 20 thousand has been around much longer than ours and people seem to gravitate toward the group with the most people, they rarely if ever post anything as opposed to ours being updated daily. We slowly seem to be getting those people who want more interaction on Randy as well as a place to memorialize his life and virtuosity. Then if you add those that are here and at TK, and further those who were and are fans but are not part of any social networking sites or messageboards the number goes much much higher. So to me that is extremely promising and I expect to see a resurgance of interest in Randy once the Doc comes out, books are published, CD's of lessons are released, and to top it off all the possible Pro-Shot footage, we will be having much larger company as time goes on. I think it is a very exciting time for us daily fans as we have a lot to look forward to with new media and interest in revisiting a time in music that set a tone for some much music thereafter. I'm really looking forward to all of this. Just my opinion but if it is correct, there is a LOT more to come!

Eddie! 8)

These are of the most interest to me, but Mrs. Rhoads has specifically asked Randy's students to not share these lessons.

seance?

Randy doesn't get that much coverage in guitar magazines. Sure there is the mention of his name in adverts, but I wouldn't say that counts. Actually nothing new about Randy has been in ages... the last 'new' info in a guitar magazine I recall is when Bob LaFonde's book came out. Everything else is just reprinting the same old stuff.

I'd love to see an article that doesn't mention his death in the first or second paragraph...

As for the original question poised by Rome Rose, go to the 'members' button at the top of this page and look at the number of member with "0" posts. In my book, "0" posts doesn't equal 'fan'.

In my book, quality has a HUGE ADVANTAGE over quantity ;)
What good does 1000+ posts do if 50% is either +1 or I agree? 8)

...nah, quality wins...ANYTIME!

He is a nut case; I do not think there is a nicer way to put it.On your journey to find out the details you will laugh, shake your head in disbelief and acquire the relevant knowledge, I hope, to steer clear of destructive people that would hope to enter your life. You will also notice on your decent into the tragic comedy that is romeorose that seemingly sane people can be driven temporarily insane by association.

The story is short but painful, to start your magical mystery tour first search for all romeorose posts. If you make it through and still wish for more punishment ask for some of his other names.

Or for similar entertainment ask about steve or his best friend jon over at .us, both are almost as mentally challenged and provide similar sick entertainment.

Out of and my crew of 30 - 3 are left (28 are/were Randy fan's). Sadly, they are watching him play now. I'm going on 46 this year - my nephew, wife and some co-worker's have since been converted. I'm dyslexic with # but,I think 9 total now (since those that have passed and are watching Randy).

Dang, forgot about mom. True story, she liked some Ozzy stuff (yes,at 72) and when she passed..........(sorry,that hurt's me really bad),she promised to let Randy know when she crossed over about us. Final count - those whom passed on 31,new and are now Randy fan's 9 (and it's growing). I have 4 grandchildren through marriage (at 46 years old) that have had Randy introduced to their lives at and early age.

Total count is 9.

Someone please make sense of this?

Totally agree, but how does "0" posts equate to any kind of quality?

So my point stands, Romeo Rose (like him or not) had a legitimate question. Look at the facts: there are 3,092 members at UR minus 2,025 with 0 posts - so you have 1,067 members who have joined this forum and posted at least once. I won't even go into how many only posted once or how may "+1" & "I agree" comments there are in that 1,067. If you look at how many have at least 2 posts the number drops to 779...

Sure, there are fans who don't join message boards, but if you look at those who do, how do you determine the number of actual fans versus the number of people who spontaneously chose to join a forum and then didn't care to contribute?

And one last thing, who determines whether a post is 'quality' or not?
