Randy and Kelly Fight ???
I was just reading about the fight that happened between Kelly Garni and Randy. The story goes that Kelly had invited Randy over for a drink as Kelly had stolen a load of booze from the Rocket club in Hollywood that had caught fire!!.So Randy arrived with good friend Ken Mcnair and the three of them get really drunk ,drinking all day into the evening.Kelly starts argueing with Randy about Kevin DuBrow saying that he has to go as he is taking over."This used to be our band and he's taken over".At the same time Kevin DuBrow was putting the vocal tracks down for the second album. Kelly had been unhappy for a long time and he wanted him out.The argument carried on until Kelly comes to the decision that he wants Randy out of his house.Randy refusing to leave makes matters worse as Kelly picks up his hand gun and fires a shot over Randy's head. The results of this ended in a fist fight between the two of them and they beat the hell out of each other .Randy ends up raking his thumbnail across Kelly's forehead from one temple to the other snapping his nail while doing this.Blood pouring down his forehead and mad as hell,Ken McNair gets Randy out of the house into a car and out of there.Surprisingly they both make up the next morning as nothing had happened, they never fell out and always remained good friends. The story goes on to say that Kelly and his girlfriend found Randy's nail the next day and he's kept it to this day.I find this a bit strange who would keep someone elses thumbnail .Under the circumstances if he'd died the next day you would feel oblidged not to throw it out.But i just think it sounds a bit far fetched..Oh! look Randy's thumb nail i'll keep that as a mementoe...What do you think..

I think it is a little weird. And maybe Kelly would say the same? Who knows?

Read this quote from a Bob Daisley interview:
see: http://www.cosmik.com/aa-august02/daisley.htmlCosmik: That's one of those moments you never forget.
Daisley: Yeah, it was. I had another moment that really stuck in my mind. We stayed up there a few days and we realized that yes, this was good, this was happening, let's get a drummer, we can audition drummers as we're writing material for the first album. We put the word out and started getting people in to audition. We stayed up at Ozzy's place for a few days, then Randy and I caught the train back down to London. This would be the end of 1979. I was standing on Stafford Station with Randy, and I had this weird feeling come over me, it was almost like a voice in my head saying "One day people will keep on asking you what was it like to play with Randy Rhoads," and I could never figure out why I had that feeling at that time. Then, eventually, as history unfolded, I found out why.
Makes you wonder....

Yeah to keep something as a keep sake but not someone's finger nail.Thats a thought when i die i'll leave all my finger and toe nails to someone i cannot stand...A cigarette lighter isn't as grossstealaway wrote:Bit creepy perhaps, but maybe he just kept is a memento...of some sort, like some for instance one could keep their late friends cigarette-lighter...like myself. Weird or not.
I have always found that nail storey odd and more than a little macabre! It wasn't like Randy was a legend then if it happened after he was in Ozzy I can see why he might have kept it.
I hope Kelli will try to get some DNA from it and grow us a new Randy ready for next year

Maybe Kelly was a little inspired by FRANKENSTEIN !GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:Yeah Trig did you read that aswell When Kelly befriended Kevin they often use to joke about cloning Randy using DNA from the nail and start Quiet Riot again wouldn't that be cool..Trigger wrote:I hope Kelli will try to get some DNA from it and grow us a new Randy ready for next year

Re: Randy and Kelly Fight ???
Im not so sure they made up so quick. if you listen to the CD of Randy giving the guitar lessons you can hear him talking about being nervous about kelly and watching his back. i don't recall word for word, but i used to always wondered why he had to watch his back with kelly. so, this may have went on longer than we think.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:Surprisingly they both make up the next morning as nothing had happened, they never fell out and always remained good friends...
