randy would have written all the guitar parts....that doesn't mean bob (and ozzy and maybe lee, although he was only there at the end for BOO wasn't he) didn't have a huge hand in arrangements, which is a very different thing to "writing"

of course Delores would say that...she's Randy's mother. I do believe he wrote all of the 'musical' parts without a doubt. However - considering the work Bob did with 3 later follow-up albums with Ozzy, i think there's no question Bob wrote most if not all of the lyrics and arranged the majority of the music/versing, etc.

The latest from Bob a couple days ago at the beginning of Nov - "i'm still whittling it down, editing it, etc...". He wants it to be as close to perfect and accurate as possible. Not like Ozzy's book that was thrown out there with very little thought or anything new in it.
I figured he'd have it ready by now - but i prefer the final product to be the best it can be - so i don't mind the wait.

I think Dee meant that Randy wrote all of his own material. . .IMHO it's obvious that Randy contributed something entirely his own when comparing BOO n DOAM to anything else that Bob n Ozzy did, however I don't think either Randy or Ozzy have the strength lyrically that Bob has. QR's lyrics are painful to my ears at times (could be because of their youth at the time) so again IMHO that also challenges the "whole" or "everything" aspect of her statement also. Ultimately most of us don't know shit because we weren't there but I'm happy to see Delores defending her son

you're absolutely right, we weren't there. but on the other hand, it's obvious that somebody's lying...

...and as much as you're happy to see Delores defend her son, I just don't buy what she says about "Randy wrote all of the music" :!:

I'm sure Randy did "wrote" all the music but BOB did the arrangement.

but Bob claimed that neither Ozzy nor Randy could write lyrics worth a sh*t as he had to rewrite them.
sometimes from scratch.

Think you'll find that you're misquoting what Bob actually said. Yes, Bob wrote the lyrics for BOO and Diary, but the melodies that Ozzy sang came AFTER the music was written by Randy AND Bob, not forgetting Lee's contribution on Diary, which included a vocal melody that Ozzy used.

You're not dumb! Most of us come to this site looking for answers. It all helps to keep Randy's legacy alive and that's got to be a good thing.

I think they all played a important role. No doubt in my mind those are Randys riffs though. Some were recycled from quiet riot tunes. We all know that.
