What was not 'smart'?
filming the drummer or bass player during a guitar solo
Videos of bands weren't as commonplace at the time, so unless you filmed bands for a living, 'mistakes' like that make sense. Also, the cameraman is not responsible for the final product, the editor is.

Sorry for calling you out on this, but the negativity on this board gets old. Rather than being thankful we have the video, people bitch about what they didn't get. Those comments don't further this community or it's reputation with the people in control of Randy's estate.

The day we learn to refrain from the negativity is the day we gain respect.

If After Hours did not exist, and it was rumored to exist of how it actually is...It would be the ultimate grail for Randy fans..

Blizzard of Ozz band jamming in a room pro shot? That is better than any concert being filmed. We already have the best thing there is of Randy..we just forget sometimes.

Don't get me wrong having after hours is the best thing ever but have to say that the whole show does not look like it was filmed with 1 camara if I a wrong than sorry but if I am right then the osbournes can have more clips of randy edited into after hours every day I think to my self what if there was no after hours and no footage at all then after thinking that to myself I start to be thankfull with what we do have

I remember the first time i heard a soundboard cassette tape of Montreal 1981 thats the KBFH live show?. I was absolutely amazed at the quality and when Randy's solos kick in and the volume pedal got hit. Shit it was like being at a live show, with the headphones on Rockin out in my bedroom. That statement cannot be too far from the truth, if 'After Hours' was still underground or in a vault. It would be the perfect prize thank God we've got it. What i've noticed, we are never happy and are always wanting more footage and live material. If i heard a soundboard live show from 1980 i'd be content, and knowing one is out there makes it a bigger shit sandwhich to taste.

So now it's 7 shows? :?
Lintball himself told me that he had footage (property from his uncle Mr. Markus) from below 5 shows:
1981 May 18th - Indianapolis
1981 May 24th - Aragon Ballroom, Chicago, IL ( he didn't say he had footage of this one, but he said there were camera's there while he attended)
1981 July 31th - Montreal
1981 Aug 1th - Port Vale, Heavy Metal Holocaust, UK
1982 Feb 18th - Beaumont, Texas (including soundcheck we've seen)
I asked him 'Lintball' about some kind of evidence but he never responded.....
So yep, can you ask his son then to eleborate a bit more about those 7 shows.... :?:
Which shows are missing in the list above?
Maybe you can also ask his son if he knows/knew a certain Mr. Markus....?

I talked directly with 'lintball' as I was the first to purchase that DVD online (Donnie got it online before I knew how)... based on my conversations with him, I seriously doubt he has anything. The fact that he disappeared speaks volumes.

Unless 'testing the waters', as he said, didn't work out...? But yep I'm very sceptical as well. (but at least he did come up with that Texas soundcheck :) )

If he was testing, he should have found a lucrative market... of course only 1 or 2 of us actually bought the DVD with the soundcheck. I'm sure that if he did have it, he's sold it to a collector by now.

Exactly, well said Shaun. I think the hardest pill for most of us to swallow is the fact that we know what exists. We know Bob has rehearsals with the Blizzard of Ozz band, we know there is Phoenix footage, we know the O's have at least 1 UK 1980 Soundboard show and we know there is more footage from E.T when they filmed them. It's different when we're possibly chasing smoke assuming some kind of pro-shot footage exists because 'apparently they filmed every show' or something like that, but it's the stuff we know exists which for a lot of us is the most difficult to accept.

I for one am very satisfied with what is freely available out there. We do have some pro-shot of Randy with QR, we have Master quality footage of AH, we have about 50 or so bootlegs from the start of the 1980 UK tour right through to 2nd leg of the Diary tour and we also have recordings of Randy both giving lessons and even a seminar he gave where he breaks down songs including the entire Diary of a Madman song, we even have Audience shot footage of Randy (as poor quality as they may be).

This is coming from someone however who only discovered Randy's music less than a decade ago, maybe ask me in 30 years what I think....

we do have more than 50 bootlegs but about half of them need to be cleaned up verry badly i think after someone goes in and cleans up the bootlegs i will be happy for the rest of my life the boots are all i really need but more footage would be nice too :D
