my friend right now thats the only pro shot footage the public is aloud to see and i hate the camera man too but keep in mind at the time nobody really randy and EVERYBODY WANTED TO SEE OZZY NOBODY REALLY STARTED TO SEE RANDY IN THE TRUE LIGHT UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE
Why was the cameraman supposed to be hip to what is what anyhow...?

You're in the fresh stages of obsession with Randy, been there....you think of him every day, relate everything to Randy, read into everything his says and does, you hear "heaven is for heros" in RME and hear him accent that like he somehow knew what would happen etc... it calms down after 15-20 years.
In Randy's case, I think its okay to use god or guitar god, loosely but don't get to hung up on religion. "Nothing like a good blaster at your side kid."
Yeah, my hometown too Geo and I was probably clueless, hearing the songs on the radio after they started that first leg of the American tour and came back around in '82 without Randy. My mint copy (back in '86) of After Hours was from a dude who got it from the supposed cameraman at a hotel bar who said, "Yeah, I shot that asshole!" but sold the guy a tape of the show. I guess he didn't hate Ozzy enough not keep a copy of it.
Then a few years ago I ran into Ed Richter (SP?) of "Life without shame" fame, a bunch of dudes that went to strip clubs, filmed it and put it on cable access. Ed was an employee of Channel 31 WUHF and said CBS bought the tape in 1982/83! It took almost 30 years for the complete official version and I think the video quality (filters or downgraded quality) looks like film and it is a video camera (s). I am glad they released it though. Long overdue.

Absolutely, this is truth! I'm not sure about others, but what do you suppose makes Randy so unique amongst his peers and other musicians? IMHO Randy was really dedicated (almost in love with) his guitar, and there were other faucets in his personality that confirmed he as indeed human and quite a likeable one at that:)
Of course we are quite subjective in what we like and biased towards that which we don't - but what do you guys think it is about Randy. Rhoads that keeps his name out there and turning out new fans from a younger generation annually?

Kids hear that song and those inclined towards guitar and metal want to hear more. When they hear the rest of his stuff they either want to learn to play or want to give up playing!

Very strange seeing this thread today and camdenlp's post cause last night I had a dream that I came across a DVD in my collection that had written on the case:
I can remember buying a VHS copy of After Hours back in '86/ '87 & it cost me all up around $80 (incl. postage) to get it here to Australia. Even though the copy was average at best - for the first 2-3mths I watched it several times per day, just spellbound watching Randy play. Fast forward 25yrs - each time I watch the footage - it's still like watching it for the 1st time.
