It's my understanding that the head that Marshall made for RR and finished it in white had a 'cascade' mod done which reroutes the signal back through the amp to increase the gain thus making it louder. I'm sure this has been covered in more detail elsewhere when the signature head was issued. It's probably still on the Marshall website.

Yeah, I know I took a couple of shots at you and the Kids In Service for Satan. Unless Satan has become incorporated and has the license on Kiss images and collectables which I believe belongs to Gene. That is really the thing I dislike so much about Kiss. Yes, I was a fan before Ozzy. I saw Kiss Vs. The Phantom of the park on TV. My first concert was KISS - Creatures of the night (half-stage) with Night Ranger opening. I was too young to see Ozzy w/Brad. I like Ace and Kulick. The brothers Kulick played in the original live shows for Bat out of hell. Great stuff. But I'm sorry, kiss has lost it's umph... Like a dying horse that needs to be put out of it's misery. They haven't yielded anything in decades, IMHO.

Don't really know about the amp being louder, but what about the speakers? Some are louder and have wider frequency response etc. Also this cascade mod thing, if it boosts the mid range then it could be perceptively louder right!?

Because he didn't use this amp on stage because it blew output transformers all the time. So this amp was only there for spare. Unfortunately Marshall choosed the wrong amp to copy for the 1959RR..... (I wish Peter Mertons could confirm this)

So Marshall release a signature of an amp that was never used, while Gibson release a copy of a guitar LP enthusiasts consider an average vintage, and charge $$$

By the way his mother told me he really loved the tone of those amp's , as for louder then black one's i don't know,i only seen him once when he was with ozzy on new year,maybe you could enlighten us with your randy knowledge?
