What about the live footage from the box set videos? that is clearly pro footage and cut from different songs so they wouldn't have had 10 seconds of a song reordered so there must be more that they have

What footage from the box was pro? It all looks like amateur, audience shot footage of Rudy to me.

Let's ask where is the uncut Entertainment tonight footage? Peter must have it or had it. The PM trailer shows Randy playing the OTM solo - which was brand new footage (then). There were bits and pieces of the song OTM, Crazy Train and the Mr. Crowley outro from the TV show but no OTM solo. So, we know this video exists but 1. how long is it and how many songs? 2. Is it a live show - meaning with audience? 3. Date? 4. When the hell is this coming out? :(

that's exactly what I meant. just annoys me when people use "of" instead of "have"

come on, "would of, should of, could of" ...

Oh, okay the After Hours stuff that's been available since forever... I was thinking of the new video in the box.

IMHO there is both pro and amateur footage but we'll probably never see it:( Either people don't want to share it or they're afraid of legal repercussions, I mean let's face it- be it a book or a doco, almost anything related to Randy seems to get shot down after a certain amount of fanfare- I don't know why that is, but I've given up on ever seeing anything beyond what we have already seen. And I made a fair amount of emails and calling venues about possible stock footage from old shows- all to no avail.

Unless someone out there has something that they feel generous enough to upload to youtube, I sincerely doubt that we will see pro shot footage coming from the O's or the estate unfortunately. It is what it is.

How can one go about contacting ET or whomever conducted the interview and/or now owns the rights to the footage? Did PM ever state that he had it?

Damn, he probably did unearth some gens along the way- it's too bad that we'll probably never see it :(

The OTM solo is in the trailer of the doc by PM. It is the exclusive footage that hasn't been seen before then. My jaw dropped when I saw the trailer. Check the E.T. footage. Then there is the "2 on the town" (I believe) or ABC rock report that features Crazy Train which is the 3rd song in on the Diary tour - Same as the E.T. footage. One features the "rehearsal" footage (Ozzy in red chainmail) while the other is a sound check (Ozzy in blue and Randy in a tee-shirt). This footage actually exists, unlike other speculations. The question is (besides the E.T. footage which PM must have) where is the unedited footage and does it exist? Any new footage of Randy would blow my mind. I'm just hoping someone would think, "This guy is pretty good on guitar" and keep the entire performance. But it is hoping, quite a bit. I'd rather discuss what is most likely out there rather than an '80 show rumored to be filmed. :?

It was Paramount who originally owned the footage - see the E.T. credits. I'm confident that that this footage exists and was acquired by PM. Whether we see it or not is another matter. In another post I wrote how the After hours footage was sold to CBS in '83 or '84 according to Ed Richter, an employee at Fox 31 WUHF studios, whom I bumped into. And look how long it took to come out in it's entirety. 2011. Let's keep the faith but keep the pressure up. That is the only way to change things. Anyone have PM's email?

From what I understand, he is on facebook- which may work better than email if his settings would allow comments to be public (or private) I'd venture to guess that he would take the time to respond to anything about the doco *lackthereof actually*.

So that is ET and 2 on the town then? I bet there is enough footage there to make the average RR fan cry tears of joy- I wonder why anything related to him always gets shot down?

Not afterhours, I mean the footage at the beginning of part 4 (otm solo) and then in part 3 where it shows the live doam tour with ozzy with the cross

It looks like the NM '82 mixed with the Irvine '82. I didn't see anything different. Am I missing something?

probaly not. TV stations most likely record the whol thing on the fly, mixing and all...

For the soundcheck as well as the dress rehearsal, I am positive they (TV stations) sent their cameras down to the venues and recorded what they could and took the footage back to the station for editing. After hours was a one off thing and that wasn't live either. A live feed is possible but these shows were not live. They were prerecorded with interviews mixed in. I am not expecting everything to surface but I'm willing to bet the E.T. footage is out there. I have the most hope for that.
