Where did you hear that?
I've always heard (from Max Norman) that he used the V and his Les Paul, he loved the Les Paul, so I'm sure he used that for most of the recording.

I'm not a betting man but, judging from what we've seen Randy use in live footage, he probably favored the Les Paul on "I Don't Know", "Crazy Train", "Revelation" and "Steal Away" and used the V on "Crowley" and "Suicide Solution" (I have no idea on "Goodbye to Romance" or "No Bone Movies".) But, then again, I wasn't there.

These are a couple of photos from a recording session during the recording of the Blizzard album. The guitars you can see in this photo are his PDV LP and a guitar that gets left out of Randy's arsenal of guitars. That is the 12 string Gibson Firebird which was giving to Randy as a present from Ozzy. The same guitar was used on the Diary album as can be seen in a shot on the inside of the Tribute sleeve here.

This is a good thread i've just found in the archives. It mentions the connection with the 12 string with some photos of the guitar close up.

Ha Ha! I was looking at that thread about the 12-string and thinking, "Damn, that's an ugly guitar." Then I found a post from me in the thread where I said, "Damn that's and ugly guitar."

Oh, definitely, the Firebird basses (technically call Thunderbird) look cool as hell. The guitar really doesn't, though.

Re: blizzard of ozz abulm
God knows what guitars he used on record. He did TRIPLE track alot though
so most songs probably had both the PDV and the LP on them

Firedirds are cool looking guitars. I've seen way uglier guitars.
