Re: Bobs book??
Is there a projected release yet date for Bob's book?
The one thing that I look forward to in Bob's book alone is that out of everyone associated with Randy's legacy, he (and to a large extent, Lee) have remained unbiased, professional and with respect towards an old friend's short life and even shorter body of work. While others may clamor for that "spotlight" (being close to Randy) Bob and Lee have remained on point with RR's memory and their unfortunate plight with the O's.
Bob's demeanor alone speaks volumes to me about the contents of what may lie within his book. I'd even venture to guess that any alleged inaccuracies will be minimal, if non-existent.
If this seems that I'm kissing Bob's ass, then so be it. The few exchanges that I've had with Bob via emails tells me that he is a solid man and exemplary musician- I wish that he had been the one directing the doc, tho I'd bet Sharon would shit herself before she'd allow that to happen.
At least Randy's legacy would have rested in the hands of a trusted friend and adviser- someone not prone to egocentric irrational behavior with an ax to grind.

I'm pretty sure he'll pull it off- he seems like he isn't in any hurry to put out a half assed effort, which I respect. He could have cashed in awhile ago if he was about the money, I bet his will be out within a year or two. I say Go on, Bob!

Re: Bobs book??
There's no hurry to get the book on shelves. And rightly so, if it's going to be done, it's gotta be done right. And no, it's not about simply cashing in on the RR legacy, if it were, it would just be a book about his time with RR, or to milk it even more, he could have written three books...one about the "Blizzard" writing, rehearsing and recording, and associated stories. One about "Diary" the writing, rehearsing and recording and associated stories.......and one titled perhaps..."Blizzard On The Road"......and just write about all the gigs and associated stories.............Bob could milk it far more than just about anyone, except for Ozzy. But he's clearly shown, it's not what he wants to do. I respect that.......a lot.
Re: Bobs book??
Couldn't have said it any better. One thing that stands out for a lot of us is how Bob has never once changed his stories or even seemed like he was trying to warp the truth about his time with Randy and the O's. From what I've read and heard from Bob he has always come across as a pretty genuine and intelligent bloke. I'm never going to get into arguments about who wrote what exactly to every detail, but from what I can see Bob has always given credit where it's due, even if the favour was never returned.RRFan4Ever wrote:Is there a projected release yet date for Bob's book?

I too couldn't agree more with you that that's what I look forward to most in Bob's book is the fact that he'll say it like it is and not try to dramatize stories just to bump up sales.

Re: Bobs book??
Book, what book? Bob's mother says he never existed.
Re: Bobs book??
Oohh boy. It's gonna start again. I wanna read this so bad. Can't wait.
Re: Bobs book??
this has been answered many times before.
Bob is in the process of putting the final touches into the book. He doesn't want to release a "half-assed" book such as Ozzy did. This will be complete and detailed, with facts (not just memories) taken from diaries and journals. He's hoping to get it out later this year if possible. He's also had alot of career experience outside of the Ozzy Osbourne band, so there is alot to write about and talk about. Its not just a book covering the Rhoads time period.
If you 'like' Bob's facebook page....then post him a direct question.....he will answer you back....usually within a day or two at the most. He actually responds to EVERY question asked. Very cool of him to do so. So instead of asking things in here to others, you can just go right on over and ask the man himself!

Re: Bobs book??
Some of us don't "do" FB- I'm actually quite envious of those that had managed to avoid social media entirely, by the time I had figured anything out, FB and the like are hotbeds for data mining, trolling, and gathering information for other purposes- such as profiling and extensive use of facial recognition, etc. Not really a conspiracy theorist, but social media definitely paved the way for a new use of the net, and not a good one!
I have spoken with Bob via his website, and he was kind enough to respond to me personally, too- and not with "stock" answers, however, that was awhile ago and I was hoping that others here may know something that I don't about the book, which I'll buy the first chance I get:) Not just because of Randy (more like Bob's extensive resume) but I think Bob will shoot from the hip and show RR in a light no one could before. Bob has held a lot back throughout the years and I look forward to him offering his side of things, and backing it up too!

Re: Bobs book??
What is the big deal asking that question here? Randy will be in the book and it is a Randy site. Why is it like twisting people's nipple to ask this question?

Nothing wrong with asking. Nothing wrong with Facebook either, sorry RRFan4Ever but I find it laughable when people insinuate it was created to be 'big brother'. Of course info is being used, so limit what you put on the 'net - Facebook or otherwise - and you'll limit what can be mined about you.Geo Sav wrote:What is the big deal asking that question here? No offense intended, RRFan4Ever, you are entitled to believe whatever you choose to be. I'm not trying to belittle you in any way. Simply saying I see things differently.

Re: Bobs book??
I wasn't necessarily speaking from personal experience or perspective, Paul- "jus sayin". I didn't really believe it until I was having some computer issues addressed online and I saw for myself the IP and fingerprint id come up (address and person)- not to mention the ease that others can "hack" into systems- my biggest issue with the net is that we all tend to sit on it and not do much of anything else;) It would seem that especially the younger generation doesn't understand the lengths we used to have to go to to find anything related to RR- or buy actual albums/cassettes/cds- nowadays younger people just don't "get that"- they surf the net and play games online and not do much of anything else. That is actually my so called gripe.
