It's a good read... Ace's reason for leaving KISS the second time was interesting...

Another good read is Duff McKagen's It's So Easy.

I didn't think Ace's book was all that great, nothing much in it that wasn't written about before.....

Huge KISS fan since 1976 & I must say I preferred Duffs book more than Ace's... I suggest Muso's pick up Duff's book as well as Butch Walker's Drinking with Strangers for some great reading.

True, most of it wasn't new information, but it was Ace's point of view and not Gene's or Paul's... not to mention, I never bothered to read articles on Ace over the years, so this book was fun to read, especially since I remember when each of the records was released, because I was a KISS fan in the '70's.

Good point. Lets remember when the person is involved in the book they aren't gonna print things that make them look as bad as some stories could be. Does Ace wanna make Gene and Paul look right when they rip on Ace?

Actually, Ace points out more than once that he is ripping on Gene specifically because of all the sh*t-talking Gene has done about him. He also points out what Gene was good at and never once slags on his bass playing or songwriting skills - except to say that he doesn't understand Gene being able to say, "I'm going to write a song," and then sit down and write one!

Ace gave his point of view, and for that I liked his book.

I think that Ace´s book was quite entertaining! Even if I somehow got the idea that Ace was drinking most of the time... huh!? Never mind, he´s still pretty darmn good guitar player and I hope he stays sober...or at least doesn´t overindulge... ´C mon! Ace wrote some classic and still has the chops! One of my first bands used to do "Parasite" as a cover, that was kinda cool!!!
