Re: Blizzard/Diary cassette artwork by Steve "the Skull" Jou
I'm dubious if the artwork was commissioned to this 'Skull' guy. As it is an original Jet release cassette tape. I forget the original country it was released but i'm sure its USA or Canada. I'd have to digg it out and check. Joe anyone could make this item if they had the inlay card. It's basic pieces of copied white paper cut out and stuck onto card. If you don't mind spending $26.00 on some printed paper be my guest. I think it's BShansolo wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/150755877169?ss ... 1439.l2649

I will let you know, Idol if it's B.S. or not. Supposedly Steve "the Crusher or the Skull" joule signed it. I had a friend in the printing business and this looks like a legit lithograph, for using as a template for the cassette you own (the only one I've ever seen). I had talked to the same seller 6+ months ago for $200-300. He doesn't seem like a copy guy but I could be wrong.

I just got it today and it looked pretty legit. It's big. And under it, I found other Ozzy designs for the Diary of madman book. It has more Steve "The Crusher or The Skull" Joule.

That book art is an amazing score. Congrats.
That is the real deal. Curious as to its actual physical dimensions?

About 14 by 22. I have just been looking at it with a friend and I think it looks real but the deal seemed unreal!

That is indeed, the pre-digital 'mechanical' for the cover. Photos dropped in at the printer. Type output from a Linotronic to a PMT (black and white photo paper).
Cut and glued to the board usually with wax.
That art board would have been shot on a line camera ( all paste-up seams disappear) and converted to film for platemaking. Colors then cut in - by hand.
Approximately twice the size of the final book. i.e. it would have been shot by the line camera at 50% scale - further hiding the 'manual' assembly.
Seriously, that is a score.
I have seen the '2 for 1 cassette' cover circulating over the years too. I am in Canada. It is legit.
That book cover mechanical blows my mind!

I have a couple of copies of this cassette and I even saw it in a charity shop a year ago.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

Joe i think that has give it a bit more authenticity and looks a nice one for the collection. I hate ripp off merchents and i was being too cautious mate. So did the book lithograph come free with the other listed item ?. Nice one...
That Diary book by Mick Wall, if anyone is interested this is on ebay now. A great book covering the early Ozzy years.

In the auction it says "mixed media" but it was a total surprise to look under it and see the other things in a pad. If he had advertised with all the items, I believe he would of gotten a lot money for it!
Re: Blizzard/Diary cassette artwork by Steve "the Skull" Jou
Just to give you an idea of what that looked like.....Steve ‘Krusher’ Joule: Yeah, the actual original idea for it was more or less the set that you got on the cover, but my idea was to have, right in the foreground, a really old leather-bound diary, that, obviously a little girl had found Ozzy’s lair, got in there, and was reading the diary. Ozzy was supposed to be coming through the door behind her, a bit like the old Frankenstein where [there would be] a little girl with the monster in the background.

I didn't use a real little girl because that would make me a sicko. It's not my best work but,you get the idea.
