Is Bob Daisley's book for real?

Post by shred1 »

He has been saying 'end of the year' for the last couple of years.
What is the hold up?

No tangible details except the 'TRUTH' (cough) will be revealed when it comes out.

Yep, starting to have my doubts...

Considering Bob's accurate memory (never detected any contradictions in interviews with Bob unlike others...) I'm sure it will be an interesting read! And some delay is common with this kind of stuff. :)

btw I haven't heard him saying for the last couple years that at the end of this year the book will come out. When was the first announcement from Bob about his book then?

I almost don't care whether or not Daisley ever puts out his book.

I don't know if Bob's book is being delayed through publishing problems. Or it may be having problems connected to the O$bournes. The same as what they did with Rudy's book ?. But he has said on his site it should be out in a couple of months. Hopefully it'll be out just in time for christmas.

He's not having any problems with the O$bournes, like Rudy did, it was only a couple of months ago he was in England and shopped it around a few publishers, none knocked it back, and who ever offers the best deal will publish the book. Maybe it'll come out in time for xmas......that would be the best time to get it on the shelves.

I am curious about it, of course. It just gets old hearing that it is coming out "soon", "read it in my forthcoming book", etc. . Call it hype fatigue.

If you visit Bob's website you'd see he has a questions & answers page. Which he replies to nearly every question asked, the same as he does on his Facebook page. When he had an idea that the book was going to happen he did start mentioning things like "that will be mentioned in my forth coming book" etc. It does sound like he's plugging the book to the max. But in fairness for everyone who's asked Bob questions in the past he has always been on the ball and gave a good reply. If he carried on doing that now, the book would have no surprises. We as fans of RR are always on the lookout for fresh info. We read magazines with old repetitive interviews and old info. So with Bob holding back on not giving too much away. I can see his book being a very interesting read.

It will be interesting for sure, and not just the Ozzy/Randy parts, but also his stories about Dio, Blackmore, Powell (Rainbow), Gary Moore (Eric Singer on drums)......and all the other guy's he's worked with, Jake E Lee, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, geez the list goes on.

He's one of the most successful Australian musicians and very underrated.....

I'm still totally excited for Bob's book to come out. I loved Rudy'a book, and am now enjoying Ozzy's book. That band during those years fascinates me, and hearing any differences in opinion or memory only add to my ability to try and sort things out. C'mon Bob....bring it on!

From Bob's Facebook page today:

"......There's no definite release date confirmed as yet but when we know, there'll be an announcement on the site and throughout the 'net. I'd say realistically it'll be early 2012, not sure yet. Cheers and thanks mate. All the best, Bob."
