Sorry for going off topic. I've spoken to Frank many times via the forums and he is truly a great person to talk with, especially about Randy. Where has he been lately? Has he grown tired of the forums?

I agree with Paul. Many people do misundertand the reason behind why Kathy released the Randy wine. It wasn't to market Randy or pay tribute to him as a famous guitarist. It was showing her love to her brother that she still misses. Some people have asked why it's OK to release replica guitars and wine, but not audio and video. Delores wants to protect the quality. I do respect that. It's just unfortunate that we really don't have anything else that is of quality. We have already heard it ... well, except for that cool solo that was just released on the box. I feel that the video footage of concerts will still have this quality even if Ozz screws up the lyrics.

Really? Then how did the palladium footage in the box set get approval? That is horrible video and audio quality.Please.This image protection thing is frankly ridiculous.I can understand wanting to protect your family but this is really a sentimental, irrational obsession which everyones entitled however i dont think this has been done to this level with any other artist that has passed.Really, its hurting his legacy not helping it.RR wasnt an FBI Top 10 most wanted fugitive-so???Those custom shop RR re-re-re-re-re-issues are a farce as far as protecting image is concerned.Silver Rhoads wrote:Delores wants to protect the quality. Why are RRs axes locked away in a vault? To protect his image?Good job that is doing for his legacy + image-collecting dust and being enjoyed by spider mites and whatever critters lurk there in the dark.
I hope one day someone in the family wakes up and sells all his axes to Jackson or The music experience in seattle. Then greenlight all video and audio of rr and make a boat load of happy cash all the while making rr more famous and recognized than at any time in the last 30yrs.Everybody will be happy and enoying the spoils-and why not, we only live once.
Its frikkin sad and irrational what has been done.

By quality regarding Dee, I'm talking about the quality of his playing being up to par, not the quality of how the videos look or how the audio sounds. We know how great his playing is with Ozz. As TA once pointed out Dee didn't want things to turn into a Jimi Hendrix circus.oth wrote:Really? I completely agree that things should be released. The guitars however are property of the family. They can do what they want with them. The PDV is at the Hard Rock, so it's not really collecting dust. There's not much else you can do with them except put them on display every now and then.
Maybe everything we are talking about will change in the near future. Not sure what that would be.

Re: Who is Frank Santa Cruz?
Randy was Delores' son. Period.
"Legacy" be damned, he was her kid! If she says no, then all the "fans" can fuck right off. She gave birth to him and raised him and taught him music. Her opinion on what should be released is the only one that matters.
She's given enough. Let it go.

... and how many knows about Jimi Hendrix compared to Randy Rhoads?
Re: Who is Frank Santa Cruz?
I am sure this will not be the last time I say this but. Randy Rhoads along with the Young brothers are my influences on guitar, yeah sure Illu and a quite a few others as well, but Randy and the Young’s.Stiltzkin wrote: ... and how many knows about Jimi Hendrix compared to Randy Rhoads?
I honestly do not care how many people like them, I just don’t see it as a way of being influential. Would I like another twenty Rhoads recordings hell yeah.
Does it matter to me that more people know who the master strat player is, no! Fuck that, I know within myself exactly how good Randy is.
If the executive of Randy’s estate does not want to release material so be it.
