Anyone ever seen those DOTG photos taken from the audience?? There are a few video camera men behind the stage filing everything. --Crazy!--
Where ?... I have argued this point until i'm blue in the face. I know that this gig was not filmed ?. I have no evidence of any of the other bands being filmed. I've enough still photographs to say this gig was definately not pro shot. Someone may have a 8mm camera in that crowd. But we could say that about every gig. Did anyone ever spot the guy in the front row at that Palladium gig in 1981 ?.
As far as the first post goes, it sounds good in writing but plenty of fans have been doing this for the last 35+ years. We would of had nothing to see if it hadn't of been for fans chasing leads to footage etc. As far as buying any footage then making it available ?. That's the million dollar question...
This was a good thread explaining the pros and cons of the DOTG 81 possible pro footage. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5159&hilit=Y%26amp% ... G&start=30
Thanks for this post! I was going to point out that this subject has been discussed in depth with lots of great information.

There was a picture I previously saw (on this site) taken from the audience (about 50 rows back) and you can CLEARLY see a guy hanging out in the scaffolding with a video camera. The guy who posted the picture even circled/identified the suspect in red.

Andrew if you are saying that this picture below shows evidence of an obvious camera. I beg to differ it could be anything from a coke vending machine to a guy playing on his playstation. Like i showed in the pics below of Y&T at the 1985 DOTG. Thats a camera on a tripod and it was used to film Metallica only. We even have a guy who visits here ( Dave Johnson) who photographed many of the DOTG festivals and he says that no camera crew filmed this 1981 gig.

^ see the tripod here. The first photo was the last song of the set. So the camera must of been there all the time. Very noticable and something you wouldn't overlook.

It was actually a photo someone took of Ozzy and Randy on stage during the show. Whoever posted the pic did something with the paint feature in photo editor and circled (in red computer paint) a guy in the scaffolding with a video camera. He was kind of sitting on the hill behind the stage. For real. I saw it on this site. I just can't remember where. He might be the same guy who has circled in red some of the Diary castle pics (trying to point out certain things).

I know I'm not crazy. I saw the pic. Just can't remember where.

I remember reading about a guy with a camera in the back of a photo sometime last on here but when i searched the best i found was that which is posted up there, which makes it clear we aint gonna see footage from a conventional angle.

Cheers again for sharing the photos idol.

You're not crazy. (Well, maybe you are  )

I remember that picture too. I don't recall where, but I do remember it. Someone may have disproved it being a camera though.

I think this was mentioned over at TK was the guy behind the backline on Randy's side of the stage ?. It was a 35mm camera not a video camera. As a couple of photos turned up that had been taking from the same angle.
I cannot see anyone with a video camera here ? That guy on the left he looks japanese and has a 35mm camera sling round his neck.

The guy on the left with the white jersey with red sleevesV. He's holding a 35mm camera. He probably took these photos below !.

What do you think Rudy ? I didn't see jack shit!!..

Anyone of these guys could of had a video camera, super 8 but all the pics i've seen have all shown guys with 35mm still cameras. I've seen photos of Heart BOC and Ozzy from all different angles and no sign  of any camera crew on stage or off. I rest my case.... Until i see a photo like the one's i posted of Y&T thats when i'll have to eat my own words and say OK lets see this footage.

I guess this photo caused the rumor. Watch the guy in the circle.
Altough it looks like it, unfortunately that is not a guy with a camera there.
Debunked long ago by UR member "TAB" who has seen a real copy of it.

As for the Ozzy, Sharon, Bob & Lee situation, compounding all of that is the element of grief that underlines it all, figuring in the effects of losing Randy. Grief is never simple...

I am grateful for the NM footage. I Never thought I would Ever see live video of Randy during the 'Diary' tour. Even two songs and the concert intro is much better than nada.

Cheers.

Cheers for showing more new photos, but the guy in the circle could be holding nowt, there are blemishes marks all over that photo so that could be one.

It was video from the box set.
Didn't Zakk say a dress rehearsal? Diary, no castle, no audience. Anybody remember the post?
