Visiting the crash site

Post by Aviator05 »

Just wanted to ask if it's a good idea to visit the crash site..I live in Inverness, just 30 miles of the crash site. I am planning on riding my bike there with a friend. It's something I've always wanted to do and it would make an interesting ride. Any warnings, suggestions ect?

Try to go during a weekday when people are there. Maybe they'll give you some kind of permission, maybe not. If you're not allowed in, it's really far to see the house from the road.

There should be a shrine there just like at the corn field where Buddy Holly's plane went down. Yes, I know it's at a person's house (garage). Anyway, it was the last place Andy, Randy and Rachel were alive.

Why don't you find the phone number of the tour bus company. Give them a ring and explain that you would like to have a look around the place. I'm sure they'd prefer you to be up front instead of sneaking around some where you shouldn't be. You don't want to end up in the back of a police car. I don't think it would be a good idea to go trespassing onto the site.

The same plot of land where the air strip and crash site are. They are owned by the same people who own the private tour coach bus hire business. ECA Entertainment coaches Leesburg you should be able to find a link or the phone number in the yellow pages.
Check out these photos in this thread here. One of them shows the white gates leading up to the Ranch and the coach business.
