I don't think they were able to handle all the orders. Why they didn't sell this through at least one store like target or best buy is beyond me. Has to have something to do with money.

Both Target and Walmart carry the stand alone editions. I don't believe I've ever seen a music box set for any artist in either chain, with the exception of Garth Brooks when he partnered with Walmart.
I guess they view the box as something for a niche market, or they could be leery investing their money in something with such a large price tag.
Best Buy made a serious boo-boo in the hard rock genre, and may think it in their own best interest to steer clear of a box set with a $150 price tag. Observe:
Best Buy was the exclusive retailer of GUNS N’ ROSES’ “Chinese Democracy” when it came out in November of 2008… and that privilege did NOT come cheap.
Best Buy bought 1.6 million copies of the album for around $14 million. But, the album bombed… and according to Nielsen Soundscan, it’s only sold 614,000 copies in the U.S. so far.
It’s unclear if Best Buy’s massive, bulk purchase was a condition of the exclusivity deal… or if they just decided to stock up because they thought it would sell. But either way, they still have a lot of discs to unload.
And that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.
Right now… (or at least as of late last night)… you could buy a “Chinese Democracy” album off BestBuy.com for $1.99. The original price is listed as $13.99, so that’s almost 90% off.
So, the only choice left for the Osbournes would be the independent stores in the big cities. They include the vinyl editions to appear hip and to cater to the audiophile and/or the serious collector. They partner up with Record Store Day and do the vinyl editions of Blizz, Diary and the Flying High 45 to generate interest and advertise for the forthcoming box. If you live in a large metropolitan area, you're in luck. If not, then order throught the online store.
The only other possible outlet would have been FYE, (For Your Entertainment), here in America. I'm not sure how prominent they are in the rest of the country, but here in New England, they bought up, or put out of business all the other existing record chains like Strawberries and Sam Goody.
One thing to consider is this box is strictly for the hardcore fan. At best they probably expect to move 250,000 copies at best on a global scale, and in the corporate world, it just isn't worth the time for the big box stores.

Whenever I put on Blizzard or Diary, what a wonderful, delicate furious beast.... I MISS you, man!

I haven't seen it anywhere but the Ozzy site. It wasn't even on amazon.

Yeah I think your right, I still have not heard a word on my missing discs, and Im starting to think I just have to realize that they dont have any intentions on replacing the discs. Whenver I send a message asking about it, I get the same answer, Sorry we still have not heard from the warehouse on the status of your missing DVD and CD. Like they cant call the warehouse and see why its taking so long to get a customers incomplete order filled. Its frustrating because you cant talk to anyone, its all email. Does anyone know if myplay is like under contract with sony to distribute disc or is it actually owned by sony. If they are under contract I could then go to Sony and tell them my story.

FILE A PAYPAL DISPUTE .... NOW!
Quit bending over for them!
That's the ONLY way you're going to get this resolved.
If you want to sit and wait for some action to be taken, otherwise ... that's exactly what you'll still be doing 4 months from now.
Sitting and waiting.
Better to send it back (what you already have, if need be) and get your money back. It's not like it's going to disappear from future availability, afterwards.
Re: MY BOXSET STORY HAS NOW BECAME WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried to file a dispute with paypal, they said this type of transaction does not qualify for a dispute.
Re: MY BOXSET STORY HAS NOW BECAME WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I agree. Dispute it. Get money back. Re-order in a few weeks or ebay/amazon. That really sucks. I just got mine and wasn't too happy with the packaging. No cases for the cds/dvd and the albums are missing half the artwork! The album "gatefold" was all bent out-of-proportion to bend perfectly in half. Junk. The DVD Randy stuff is priceless. I'm thankful but it could of been sooo much better.

The hell it doesn't.
Call them BY PHONE.
1-888-221-1161
4:00 AM PST to 10:00 PM Pacific Time Monday through Friday
6:00 AM PST to 8:00 PM Pacific Time Saturday and Sunday
You DID NOT receive a "partial shipment." You received a "defective/misrepresented/wrong" item and want to return it for a full refund.
Re: MY BOXSET STORY HAS NOW BECAME WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RhoadsRockPhotographer: I filled out the online form and after I submitted it, a window said this type of transaction does not qualify for dispute. But I will call them with the number you provided to see what I can do thanks!

You have to not accept "no" for an answer (from PayPal).rrfan wrote:RhoadsRockPhotographer: I filled out the online form and after I submitted it, a window said this type of transaction does not qualify for dispute. But I will call them with the number you provided to see what I can do thanks!
You didn't receive what was represented and WANT A REFUND ... period.
You want to RETURN the part that WAS received and just want your money back.
Don't even tell them you just want what you didn't get, or a replacement.
If they give you the "I'm sorry .. our policy states blah blah blah" tell them that's simply not acceptable and ask to speak to a SUPERVISOR.
Be polite, but assertive. Don't simply roll over at their first response, if it's not acceptable..
You can worry about any re-ordering LATER - once you have your money back.
Let THEM (where you ordered it from) "offer an IMMEDIATE full replacement" - as a compromise to a refund.
