Again, not meaning to "dig" at anyone on this board, but more just disgust with the Sharon/Ozzy thing.
They ripped Bob and Lee off. Period.

Re: Bob Daisley's grail stuff.
I still say Tommy smokes Lee. I will agree that Bob is better than Rudy, and was an important part of Ozzys career. But im sorry, I refuse to give him all the credit. And for the record, Lee and Bob aren't owed ANYTHING. They signed the same kind of contract that a lot of musicians sign. Its true, no one knew how successful Ozzy was gonna be after Sabbath, but at the end of the day he was already a star. Sabbath was huge. In music your average person will always identify with the singer. Bob and Lee signed a bad contract. They had no idea how successful those albums were gonna be. My singer is a songwriter. When he sells a song he can choose to take a lump sum, or he can choose to sell the song for royalties. Usually the lump sum is what he takes, because you never know. Thats exactly what Bob and Lee did. The courts have already thrown it out. Its over and done with. The only people that did them wrong were themselves. My drummer toured the world in a mid tier rock band. He also recorded with them. His contract was the same. A lump sum, no royalties. Thats just the nature of the beast. There is no doubt that those first two albums were magic. But it wasn't just one person. It was the perfect combination of people. Thats why it worked.

Is it great to have new Randy footage?? ABSOLUTELY!
Should the Osbournes have said "we have totally amazing video, jaw-dropping, enlarged pupils, out of this world, totally spectacular." No. They should have said "we have some extra footage we are excited to share." That's a better way of saying it.

'Its all in my book, mate'..... Yawn.
And when Bob's book comes out, will it change anything? Nope.
It seems to me you direct your anger at Bob's treatment via the Osbournes at Tommy and Rudy. They were offered the gig and they took it.
Just like Bob did.
I will go back to the start.... what transpired that infuriated the Osbournes so badly that they took this course of action with Bob and Lee? I don't have an answer, and opinions are just that.
Interesting too that Bob resurfaces in what we have agreed was a bit of a letdown 'gig-wise' with Heep after Ozzy, while the albums he helped write were dominating the rock charts.
The 'iron was hottest' at this point and Bob went C circuit. No offers from other headlining acts of the day, and Ritchie Blackmore didn't renew Bob's tenure in Rainbow either.
Finally.... when the average person (not Rhoads zealots) sees a book by 'Bob Daisley', will they know who he even is? Guess we will find out.
This is the music biz, and the only notes that really count are the ones that come in wads.

Good points. I agree to a certain extent.

Thnx for the nice words! But it is actually Ian (Trigger) who's Ozzy boot collection is uploaded here. Though I did upload the 'Offenbach' (Stadhalle '81) boot in the early days here when we didn't have an audio section yet.electricmombie wrote:Special Thanks also to The Flying Dutchman, Kindest Moderator, for providing us all with scores of Blizzard Of Ozz/Diary Of A Madman tour bootlegs. It would be interesting to see what a live concert set list today would look like if Ozzy dropped any of the the songs Bob wrote lyrics for from the albums, Blizzard, Diary, Bark, Ultimate Sin, No Rest and No More Tears...................we'd see Ozzy in concert playing "Let Me Hear You Scream", "Iron Man", "Fairy's Wear Boots" and "War Pigs"..........mmm...and "Not Going Away".......

Re: Bob Daisley's grail stuff.
I hear you, Andrew. I feel about 'Diary' how you feel about 'Blizzard'. I don't feel there is a weak tune amongst either album. I have always been rather partial to 'Diary' because it has all of thee layers of sound to it: for an album recorded about a year after 'Blizzard', it has some serious growth spurts about it. Lee's drums sound better on 'Diary' arguably. Eh, why quibble! These two albums are still all-time classics. I wonder if the powers that be will finally put the kabosh on them bogus '02 re-recordings and feed them under the wheels of steamrollers

Since Bob is complaining about getting royalties, I'm assuming that his original contract included royalties. Don didn't pay them out to ANYONE, not even Ozzy I believe, I think Ozzy and Sharon even worked with Bob trying to sue Don for royalties at one point. When Ozzy and Sharon bought the contracts, they did the same thing to Bob and Lee.
After Bob was fired from the band and was rehired (Under a different contract) he was to be payed in a lump sum for the album BatM. That is why he doesn't complain about any other albums. Not because he was payed poorly, but because he wasn't OWED anything from those.

Re: Bob Daisley's grail stuff.
Ozzy and Sharon did work with Bob on getting what he was owed, or at least said they would, that was part of the reason Bob worked again with Ozzy on BATM, he thought they were going to work with him and set things right because they said they would.Cryptic Night wrote:You have a copy of Bob's contract from those days?Remedylane wrote:I still say Tommy smokes Lee. People seem to forget Bob and Lee WON the first court case in the 80's and got what was owed to them from Blizzard. So clearly they didn't sign a bad contract, or they would have lost.

Re: Bob Daisley's grail stuff.
Bob didn't write lyrics for No More Tears. So.. Ozzy could do a nice little setlist like this one. i only listed songs that he has played live.rokket wrote:It would be interesting to see what a live concert set list today would look like if Ozzy dropped any of the the songs Bob wrote lyrics for from the albums, Blizzard, Diary, Bark, Ultimate Sin, No Rest and No More Tears...................we'd see Ozzy in concert playing "Let Me Hear You Scream", "Iron Man", "Fairy's Wear Boots" and "War Pigs"..........mmm...and "Not Going Away".......

Seriously, this is like beating a dead horse. Honestly, I don't know the details of what was in the contracts anymore than you do. I am simply assuming. All I know is that their lawsuits have been dismissed. ( Yes I am aware that they did win one lawsuit) Seems to me that the evidence that Bob, Lee, and you guys claim, simply isn't there. Ive heard 50 different stories on this crap. So when its all said and done, Ill go with the courts, and not what Bob says. Sorry.

Yes I stand corrected, he didn't write the lyrics for the "No More Tears" album, he played bass on it.axeman_12656 wrote:Bob didn't write lyrics for No More Tears. So..
