LIke alot of people here, i dont need the vinyl on the boxset, i already have them and didnt have a system to hear them nowaday. I already have the blizzard and DOAM cd, dont need them too. I wanted the Live cd so i tried to purchase the cd online but it appear that the Osbournes dont want me to pay for it, cuz i'm in canada. I tried apple store, amazon and another store but i just wanst able to buy the live album. SO, what i did? yes did downlaod it for free. not my fault... Now, for the Doc on the boxset, it already been showed on TV for free. They want me to pay for that too??

Noway i will pay 150$ for the 30min footage. Now, if they release the footage on a separate DVD for 30 35$,, I will buy it immediatly (of course, if they let me buy it, since i'm in canada..... )

But, of course, NOBODY, is forced to share the footage.. we just ask.. that's it.

Hey, don't be sorry, its just a subject that people obviously have strong opinions about. Because I play and have been in the shoes of the artist from the business end, I will always side with the artist. They got screwed for years by record companies, now when a new artist signs a deal, most record companies want a percentage of their live money and merchandising to. Plus, most of your hard rock and metal bands don't get much radio play (at least in the U.S.) so they're not getting the really big songwriting royalties that they used to (all 13 cents per play).

And purely from my standpoint, guys like Randy, Jake, EVH and countless others got me through alot when I was younger especially. Doug Aldrich (who I'm sure ya'll are tired of me talking about) made a HUGE impression on my son when we met him, to me that carries alot of weight and I just wouldn't feel right not paying for their work. Now, as I said, that's how I feel about it, doesn't mean everyone else is not entitled to their own opinion on it or that they can't speak their mind on it, and I'm not saying that because anyone insinuated that about anything I've said, that's just how I feel about it.

I do agree, that everything has gotten overpriced, but to a die-hard Randy fan they may not think the box-set is too much. As far as your dilemma, you just want to see and hear it and you can't find it, I can understand your post perfectly. Don't take any of the comments personally, I really don't think anyone means them that way, I know I don't.

Ok. But where would the record companies get the money to spend on new acts
since some people obviously won't spend any money on their other acts ?!

I did buy 2 radio controlled car that costed me 500$ each (for my 2 kids).. When my friends come to my house, i didnt mind racing with them using one. I Pay for the parts, maintenance etc etc.. I have one of my friend who is kind of rich guy who have a boats, snowmobile etc etc. He always invite a bunch of friends on his boat and just dont ask anything to anybody...

YOu know? i just dont care to share with people.. AT the end of the day, people forgot that its just damn ffreaking video, just material.. All this a alot of bullshit.

This thread's got quite heavy. For my two pence, the box set is worth every penny. I already had the vinyl's and cd's but these re-mastered versions are incredible, the book is great and fucking hell, the live cd ripped my face off.
I'm not into Kiss or Alice Cooper so can't comment but Alice was on The One Show last night promoting his box set and it looked like the ultimate collection for Alice fans but how much does that cost? We know that this release isn't the be all and end all.
On a side note, how the hell do you insert the flipping the finger smilie, and the Swede's grasp of the English language is humbling.

giving it for free?? you give me a copy my friend. not your original dvd, with paper etc etc.. Its like i buy a book and a make photocopy for you... damn i dont care.. i keep the original book and you got a copy..

No problem, I think it's good we have a discussion about this! It's no surpise it becomes a bit 'heated' since it's a 'touchy' subject, but hopefully it won't get 'over-heated'...... Lots of good points are made so far.

Regarding UR itself: we can get in real trouble by providing direct links here to download box stuff.
