Randy didn't even perform a spotlight solo that night.orion_damage wrote:BummerAceVader wrote:There isnt.orion_damage wrote:Forgive me if I overlooked it but has anyone said if there's footage of the Spotlight Solo?
its so wild when you think about this.... we have SO LITTLE footage on randy... but have both sets that night from NYC from different sources.

There is more out there that hasnt come to light yet. I absolutely believe this is true. I may never be proven right, but I cant be convinced more footage doesnt exist. Im not surprised at any new footage and I expect more to pop up here and there. If Randy were a household name like Hendrix or Led Zeppelin, we'd have a lot more.

Dude I have been asking that same question for fucking DAYZ now! Finally something comes out after for like EVER and I mean NOT ONE FUCKING PERSON WILL UPLOAD IT.Jazznroll wrote:Why isnt this stuff on youtube yet?
There is allot of people that were left in the dark because they cant afford the footage or just dont want to support the O's anymore! Cant blame them...........
People also think that by holding out maybe it wont leak.... OHHHH its not a matter of IF but a matter of WHEN will this leak.
So the people that have it in there hands and dont really wanna share thats fine dont.... We can just wait a little bit longer..
Rant over...

Re: The Official New Footage (NYC and NM) Thread (Box Spoile
My hope was that someone would upload one song from the Palladium footage, and one song from the Diary footage. I just wanted to check it out before I spend 150 bucks on the boxset. Plus I KNOW that they will end up releasing the DVD on its own. So im trying to hold out until them.

The more I watch the footage the more I like it. Even the palladium stuff. I have said before and agree with other AH is like watching in HD now almost. The NM footage as short as it is, and even though not filmed well still is pretty incredible. You get to hear OTM and see Randy play it. I'm glad to have it.
Just buy it or wait until one comes on ebay. This box set is great period. No it ain't cheap but you are getting a lot. I read where a lot of people bash the Os, but are not Bob and Lee getting paid this time. Not to mention Randy's family. I know this is a topic for it's own thread but if I was an artist I would want paid for my talents. I am not to keen on illegal downloads. Crazy why people think they should get other peoples work for free.

Re: The Official New Footage (NYC and NM) Thread (Box Spoile
I do not mind buying the footage one bit.. I just dont want to pay 150 for it. I would have no issues paying 15 per cd, and 20-25 for the DVD. I have zero interest in the LPs and I have very little interest in book and pendant. I would pay 50-55 bucks for the CDs and DVD. But the additonal 100 bucks is what i have problem with. I may still end up getting the boxset, but I am trying to wait it out until they release the DVD on its own, or at the very least, until I see a sample of the footage before I buy it.

Remedylane I agree your stuck buying all or nothing. That being said it's really not a box set or as special without the other stuff. All in all it's a pretty classy package. The cross is kind of lame but even it fits well with the idea of the box.
What would have been cool is if they would have done a RR logo poka dot guitar pick. I know there was never an official Randy pick but would have been neat to have with the box.

The box does look nice from what pictures ive seen. I don't think its a horrible deal price wise. Just more than I want to pay at the moment. I actually think sales would have been even better had they offered the option to buy the DVD separately.. I think they are missing the boat.. People would have still bought the special box set.. They could have limited it to 5-10 thousand copies. The same amount of folks would have still bought it. Then they would have had the separate DVD and CD sales on top of all that. Those of us on this board are all about Randy. But Ozz has millions and millions of fans as well. I do agree with you about the guitar pick. They could have thrown in a few more "Randy" things. Im gonna try to hold out for the DVD to come out on its own.. Im confident that it will.

Re: The Official New Footage (NYC and NM) Thread (Box Spoile
For me any footage is priceless, Someone mentioned on a different thread that if a private seller was offering the footage for $1000 he would of bought it, I can say the same, so $150 for something I've sought after for 19 years is not a problem. Havent been this excited about seeing footage of a band since I got The other Palladium, and Rosemont footage in the 90's. It is definately surreal watching, and still kind of cant believe that I have NEW Randy Ozzy footage.
Palladium could have been better if it was synched up to a better source of the audio, but hey there are so many audio recordings of them, that I'm cool with what the camera captured. If those reels only captured 1 more minute of each song, it would be SO much better!! And of course if the filmer caught more of Randy, and did not cut away from solos to follow Ozz..
The Blizzard tour had a fantastic lighting system, I've never seen Ozzy so happy on stage, he really was a great frontman back then.
My favorite part is Mr. Crowley, Randy's solo is Fantasic, you really see "the chemistry" in this one. Revelation/Steal Away is great, Flying High (aside from the cam following Ozzy during Randy's solo)
The bow at the end is great to see, SO glad that was captured! The biggest bummer (and its gut wrenching!)
is the film runs out right when Randy starts his solo to Believer.... and that solo starts out like a frieght train!
The Albequerque footage is great, of course aside from the cameraman not catching alot of Randy's solos, sometimes he was filming the ceiling, crowd whatever.. Sound quality is good, you are hearing the on stage mix through the monitors, so its a little different. Again priceless for what it is.. wish there was more.
After Hours is so clear, I never noticed that Tommy had a woodgrain design on his drums. Kind of like seeing it for the first time all over again.
All we can do now is celebrate, and enjoy what we have, and still hope for more... I think it will happen someday, hopefully one of those venuse like The Capital Center with an in house fimer, If they were willing to release subpar quality, that is a really good sign that they could release even more IMO. I still would like to see the full Rosemont show without any glitches someday, if that exists. Until then this is good enough for me, and well worth the money! The live cd is kickin too.

So this audio is similar to the "line" recordings we hear in the Kalamzoo and Minneapolis 82 shows? Do you hear that very distinct stereo delay in some of Randy's solos?Astral Plane wrote: The Albequerque footage is great, of course aside from the cameraman not catching alot of Randy's solos, sometimes he was filming the ceiling, crowd whatever.. And are all the beginning of the Palladium songs seen? Just the ends cut?
My box arrives in 48 hrs.
oh, also I'm still terribly curious if the VH1 Ozzy 30 years after blizzard is the same one that is in the box. I watched parts 1,3,4,5 on youtube before they were taken down.
Re: The Official New Footage (NYC and NM) Thread (Box Spoile
This guy on youtube has a few really good compilation videos. Check his other Ozzy/Randy videos after watching this one. You'll get an idea of the footage out there.

Some of the DOAM stuff is incredible in my book. Never thought I'd see it.

Getting back to bitching who wasn't in the doco (& I'm surprised you dont even see him breifly in the NYC & NM footage) another person who I thought SHOULD HAVE also been interviewed/ in the doco is Don Airey. He did write/ do the intro for Mr. Crowley & the brillinant work in Relevation Mother Earth on the BOO album & also was on the DOAM tour. Would have been great to have his inside story of it all as well...
