Honestly? I think I remember hearing it first hand from Joe himself. I saw Chickenfoot at the Park West (in Chicago) a few years ago, and my drummer got us backstage to hang out with Joe. Our drummer (Jason Batchko) previously toured in a band that opened for Joe Satriani in the early 90's. The band was called Roll Over. Go ahead and google pictures and stuff. Jason looks just like Joe. Anyways - we hung out with Joe, and our singer (who is also a great guitarist) asked all about other guitarists, and I believe that Satriani saw Randy play in NYC once. I'll ask Jason to ask Joe. Believe it or not, they still keep in touch. Jason (our drummer) had these phone pranks on cd that Joe used to love listening to. But yeah - I'll upload the photo of me, my singer (Matt) and Joe Satriani. It was back in 2009. I remember Satriani SPECIFICALLY talking about how Yngwie was a real headached during the G3 tour.

Joe also had this super-nice assistant with him, who was a guy from the UK. Joe was one of the nicest guys ever. When we were leaving the dressing room, he said "load up" and pointed to the table. There were FULL bottles of whiskey, vodka, tons of food, bags of chips, smoothies, ect. Him and Chad shared a room, and Sammy and Michael Anthony were in a different room. I'll have to get the pics from my old phone. Or, you can probably find them on the Holding Mercury My Space site somewhere. Matt (our singer) probably has the photo of me, Joe, and him up somewhere. I'll find this stuff guys. But honestly - I'm 100% serious.
