Hi all,
I'm not sure if this has already been posted but here's a link to order the box set from the uk.
As far as I'm aware anyone living in a Euopean Union country can order this and it shouldn't be liable for import taxes.
http://www.myplaydirect.com/ozzy-osbour ... nouncement
If you go through to the checkout it states this -
* Ships UPS World Wide Saver from the U.S.
* Fast and fully trackable (3-5 days worldwide)
* All taxes, duties, and fees included (no customs delays)
Dee.

Yea really hope the solo is on it, of course it will probably be at the 32:00 min mark and the video will end or something...fortress wrote:well, you already have an idea of Randy playing the spotlight solo by watching the Quiet Riot DVDAceVader wrote:tedeeoo wrote:I don't really ever comment on this much but, last night I posted the audio of Randy's tribute solo on my facebook page, for some odd reason it just felt right given the time of year. And after listening to it, which I haven't done in many years, I can truly say I hope all the concerned parties have got everything straight and we finally do get to see a full concert dvd of Randy, that would be a very special thing to have, because as that solo I posted last nght attest, Randy was a very special guitar player, and an even more special person. Not that I'm telling anyone here something you don't already know, I just wanted to say it, and yes, I will pay whatever price they ask for it.
Im really, really, REALLY hoping that it does indeed have the spotlight solo on it. That, and Steal Away. I badly want to see Randy rocking out on those. But the spotlight solo will be the ultimate, Ive always, always wanted to SEE him play it.

Is this box set going to be an only US release and sold only from Myplaydirect.com? No sign of it anywhere else I've looked and asked.

Amazon did have a link up to pre-order, but it has now been stopped until further notice. So i don't know if the orders have exceeded the limited amount ?. Play.com did have the separate Blizzard and Diary expanded versions listed and free postage with that company.Isodee wrote:Is this box set going to be an only US release and sold only from Myplaydirect.com? I had to laugh when $haron mentioned at the end of the trailer. "It was just magic the whole combination" Yeah so good that she went out of her way to get Tommy Aldridge in the band. One perfect band well and truly Fucked. Well done $haron you get your case of beer for that one...

Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
I know what ou mean Shaun but Tommy is a much better drummer, however Lee did make two killer albums and sadly we don't look like we are going to hear that full pro recorded 1980 album anytime soon to make a better judgement.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

Yeah i cannot take it away from Ozzy that he was his original choice for the job. So when he did become available $haron jumped at the chance to get him in the band. I've always been a fan of Tommy and his other projects, he was awesome drumming for Thin Lizzy, Pat Travers, Whitesnake need i list them all. But he did get sacked after the Bark album. Which gives me the feeling that Tommy is no more then a session drummer very like Cozy Powell. With a no ties attitude, he could bounce from one band to the next. Lee reminded me of John Bonham with his aggressive style and single bass drumming. I just feel like they used both Bob and Lee knowing how much input they put into both those albums then to fire them after the UK tour and the albums were in the bag. After all the auditions they went through Lee was the chosen one. He was the missing piece of the puzzle and the picture was eventualy complete. Just a shame that Southampton show isn't going to see the light of day.Trigger wrote:I know what you mean Shaun but Tommy is a much better drummer, however Lee did make two killer albums and sadly we don't look like we are going to hear that full pro recorded 1980 album anytime soon to make a better judgement.

I have read before that the Blizzard album was pretty much finished before they even got Lee.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:knowing how much input they put into both those albums.

The writing was done by the time Lee joined, not the recording.axeman_12656 wrote:I have read before that the Blizzard album was pretty much finished before they even got Lee.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:knowing how much input they put into both those albums.
Big difference.
The drumming on Blizzard is all Lee.

Well for me it was the elimanation process when they auditioned so many drummers and they looked like they would have to end up getting a session drummer in. But the comment both Bob and Randy made when Lee was like the last drummer to be seen and they could feel the magic had gelled. I think Bob said the look on Randy's face when they jammed for the first time, that was enough to reassure the band would progress into the classic act they became. After all the auditions they went through Lee was the chosen one. He was the missing piece of the puzzle and the picture was eventualy complete. I was fortunate to see this line up Live and it was just awesome, one of the best gigs i've been to.axeman_12656 wrote:I have read before that the Blizzard album was pretty much finished before they even got Lee.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:knowing how much input they put into both those albums.

(Jaw drops) Get out outta here. You lucky bastard, IDOL. Which gig was it? I too love the '80 line-up the best. The boots, especially Chelmsford are just awesome. Ozzy voice was in better shape (from what I remember) than the states. I would have loved to hear them perform Diary songs live, yada, yada...Bob's tapes, sigh, DVD, record day, processing, processing, shutting down.

Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
It was the Newcastle city hall 17th September gig. They came back to my town a month later but the club was for over 18's only and i was only 14 at the time. Just the atmosphere was awesome Ozzy had the crowd whipped up, buckets of water getting lashed out onto the mad crowd. The balcony was bouncing you could see it moving scary shit when standing underneath. But the focus was on Ozzy. I remember Randy's polka dot V thats about as much as my memory can take me back. I'd love to see some photos from the show. The biggest upset was when Ozzy cancelled the 1981 tour dates he would of been playing 2 nights in Newcastle. One of them was on Randy's birthday.hansolo wrote:(Jaw drops) Get out outta here. You lucky bastard, IDOL. Which gig was it? I too love the '80 line-up the best. Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
Right... The writting was done. Thats what I was getting at. Like I said Lee didn't help write those songs. He just at that point put his stamp on them. You don't generally get songwritting credit for that.juano wrote:The writing was done by the time Lee joined, not the recording.axeman_12656 wrote:I have read before that the Blizzard album was pretty much finished before they even got Lee.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:knowing how much input they put into both those albums.
