Your Thoughts??
My thoughts are this:
When listening to the guitarsound it's exactly the guitar sound Randy had on DOAM. (listen to the OTM solo) I don't think it's a live recording. Also he is definitely playing some phrases of his Spotlight solo. Still it's a bit slow compared how he played it live. I think he was warming up a little during recording DOAM while the tapes were rolling, so they captured it by 'accident'. And now almost 3 decades later they feel it's worth to share it with the fans! :)

(of course I hope I'm wrong and it is footage from his spotlight solo, but honestly I don't think it is........)

Its not the spotlight solo, its just way to slow. Its some bonus material, probably the new solo.

Actually just to add everyone seems to be wishing for this spotlight solo but from all the information that has been given and gathered, I really doubt that we are going to see him play it in the footage as it looks to be the 1st show. However if its in the diary of a madman tour footage ( BIg Hope ) it would be amazing but I really highly doubt that is the case.

Cornelius made theis post over at TK:

They're playing it back in ProTools and looking at the computer monitor, that's all. Here's more footage of Ozzy and Kevin Churko in the same studio; there are a few shots where you can see the monitor sitting above the mixing desk:

It sounds like a studio track to me - and probably just a warm-up thing, as someone else suggested.

Yeah, its probably just Randy warming up. I figured it out last night, and it is just G pentatonic Minor licks in octaves. Maybe something for "I Don't Know"? I can't think of any other solos in G...

Over the Mountain was mentioned. The first lick is not pentatonic based, it is the Ab minor scale in a desending pattern. The spotlight solo starts with a fast A pentatonic minor lick that goes Aeolian/Dorian.

Well depending on which of the NY shows it was, the spotlight solo was only played at one of the shows because they cut the show down by removing RR's solo during (i think) the first show, this was done to cut the time down so they could turn the venue around to let the next audience in.
Tommy got his solo at both the NY shows but he was a music celeb where as RR was a newby! so if this solo is from NY we would need to check photo's of what OO was wearing and which show RR solo'd in to rule the spotlight solo possible for the live video DVD.

I think it more likely that RR did a solo while the tape was running during the sessions for Blizz' or Diary OR it is the spotlight solo from Southampton, and we know that Southampton was/is planned for release.

Ian have you had some of that acid that Daves been taking ? Since this Live footage was announced everyone is losing the plot. Deep breath ...... i will only say this once.. nar man i'm only joking mate. I think it has been decided it is the 1st gig looking at what Ozzy was wearing the dark top with the white tassles. I think he had a white one on for the second show. Which i heard started at 1.00 AM ? So what was the rush to get the first show shortend. Anyway i think they are listening to the new guitar solo or as 'Solo's' has pointed out it could be 'I Don't Know' solo in Dolorean pentatonic in G or something of that nature LOL!!. Good ear i bet he can hear a dog whistle. We could all guess, but it has to be something that Ozzy wouldn't of heard everynight on stage because he looks like he is about to cum in his pants. I think i'll be doing the same  roll on the 31st May. This is a thought remember the loop of tape that Max Norman mentioned which was to capture the 'Crowley solo' that Randy was doing his best to nail. Could it be something from that.... Oh! hang on a minute who's fucking spiked me.... Whooooaaa....!!!!!! :o :x

This. Randy's solo is usually 1:45~2:00 mintues long. By cutting it from the set, it saved time for the next set? Seems odd to me. But...OK!

It could be the spotlight solo, like you said, from the Southhampton set. Randy is usung pretty much a variation of the spotlight solo. Like I pointed out before. If one could listen to the begining of the trialer again and crank the volume up, just went it begining to fade, one can still hear a very familar pattern to the spotlight solo.

Shaun, They shortened the set list I imagine to make way for a speedy second show and they did it by axeing RR's solo and if my memory serves by cutting the bit where ozzy counts to 3 and the audience shout!, also I thin kthe gap between Children and Paranoid was shorter.
