Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
I love the part where Ozzy appears to be throwing something at the ground?! Pretty intense.
Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
WOW-I can't believe anyone is complaining even a bit
Now that all the info is out it's time to give thanks
Kelle mentioned the "surprise" a month ago and swore us to secrecy-and hinted we will all be very happy soon.I'm happy

Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
some of that footage just makes me think how the hell didnt anybody know!!!!!!!!im grateful either way!!!!
Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
I am delighted chaps! Tito, isn't it odd that of all the footage we all knew about what we have seen is none that we had all speculated about, those who filmed it didnt come to the forums mentioning it which makes me wonder if the reason why we didn't know was because it was done for Ozzy and the band and they had no reason to mention it?
Should that be the case we still have plenty to look forward to.

Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
No complaints here
Can't wait til my boxset arrives. For those asking why there is more Blizzard vid than Diary? A few things to consider...
1. Ozzy had to prove himself when Blizzard came out. Sharon is a savvy business person and they were likely doing everything they could for promotion. TV opportunities go a long way.
2. Randy perished only three months into the Diary tour. Where as they toured extensively in 81 for Blizzard. Obviously, there was more opportunity on the Blizzard tour.
3. The record company was pushing for a live Sabbath covers album right around the time of Randy's death. Could be that an extensive video budget was being reserved by the record company for that release.
4. As for bootleg video...I applaud those that were able to get a camera into those venues. Do you remember how big video cameras were back then? Not something easy to conceal. I'm grateful for every grainy second of video we've all had the pleasure of seeing and yet to be seen.

Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
Ozzy may have had stuff sent to him by fans long time ago too. I have him in an interview saying that fans would send him footage of him and Randy and he can't watch it and that was around the mid 90s. So who knows.

Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
There is the possibility some may be put aside for the anniversary next year. Not just 30 years since Randy passed, but 25 for the Tribute album as well.
Perhaps the Southampton tracks would be removed from that album, as it appears possible that show could get it's own release?
I go back to Tommy aldridge commenting about the boxes of tapes he had, also Don mentioning he and Randy would listen to the tape of the show they just played, working out the keyboard/ guitar interplay.
I don't know how early it started, but it seems as though this band recorded nearly every show from the soundboard.
If it is plausible that this and more Rhoads-era footage existed in their vaults, couldn't the same be said for an audio archive? Were the bandmembers encouraged to make their own copies to review for improvements and the like?
Good call on Ozzy's outfits, Ian, as we've seen Randy also started out wearing some of the gear from his club days.
Lastly, Frank had mentioned over at TK that it was the Ozzy camp who brought the footage to the memorial. They also filmed the reactions of those there and that was also planned for inclusion somewhere in the package, according to Ozzy's PA, John.
Bonus features? Easter eggs? The mind reels....

Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
Whoopiecat, it seems likely that many shows were recorded from the soundboard. This may have started from early on in the US 'Blizzard' tour, cos they were doing it at that stage for the upcoming live album (I think Ozzy spoke about it in a Record Review article while on the '81 US tour).whoopiecat wrote:There is the possibility some may be put aside for the anniversary next year. Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
Why don't we clear everything up once and for all by just asking Ozzy himself?!

Re: Blizzard DVD trailer
I have been thinking exactly that, the Diary footage seems to be filmed on stage which would mean Ozzy's crew. So I agree, I think there is much more now.Trigger wrote:I am delighted chaps!
