Ahh, South Hampton = Th live Ep. Got it.
Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
The DVD also contains over 70 minutes of additional rare live performancesand interviews; included is the premiere of more than 30 minutes of newly-discovered never-bootlegged footage of Ozzy and Randy from the Blizzard of Ozz tour shot from the front of the stage at New York's fabled Palladium on May 2, 1981.
so if i'm reading this right there is another 40mins of live performances which I think will mean "after hours" and snippets of what we have all seen already

The thing is some people will never be happy, ive been a randy fan for over 30 years and i can remember the day back in 1987 when i first got a copy of after hours, and when the texas sound check was released, I had been waiting for such a long time i was over the moon. I cant wait for this release, there will be more stuff on this dvd than we could have ever imagined and that alone will do it for me, i bet the book will contain loads of stuff also that we havent seen, plus the outakes, bring on the 31st i cant wait.
Jas.

No. There is not an "additional" 40 minutes of live material.
There is a 70 minute interview/discussion type-thing with some snippets mixed in (almost surely After Hours type stuff....and not the whole thing....just snippets).
The additional material is this "30-minute" Palladium thing that supposedly has never been seen before and i think we're all waiting word on whether its a pro-type-shot material or bootleg. My guess is that its bootleg, but we'll have to wait until we see what they say in the forthcoming days.
Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
My question is, if it's bootleg, then how did they acquire bootleg footage and what happened to the person that supplied it? They obviously havent been sued - so does this clear the way for other un-official material (Arizona, brothers maybe?) to be released without fear of repercussion?
Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
but it clearly states that there are interview etc and that the DVD ALSO CONTAINS OVER 70min "ADDITIONAL" rare live performance....so to me that means on top of the doco so the DVD is 100mins including the interviews....anyone else read it like that??halo8th wrote:No. There is not an "additional" 40 minutes of live material.

This new “Thirty Years After The Blizzard”DVD chronicles Ozzy's years with Randy Rhoads features previously unseen footage of Ozzy and Randy filmed in 1981 & 1982; it incorporates rare archival photos and films; along with new and revelatory interviews with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Lemmy (Motörhead), Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx, Rob Halford, Zakk Wylde, Bill Ward and more. They would have paid the guy something for it..and no it won't mean its open season for releasing stuffAceVader wrote:My question is, if it's bootleg, then how did they acquire bootleg footage and what happened to the person that supplied it? Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
I bet the studio solo is just a hammer on for a minute or something like that, also at least we get to shorten our 'wanted list' down abit so we'll have a nice collection in a years time. Cheers

The way I read it is that we have seen all the footage containing Rhoads that will be on that DVD, with the possible exception of the 30 minute Palladium footage. It says rare live performance, but everyone here has seen all the rare Randy footage. the only thing it makes special note of - the special "never bootlegged" footage which it says is 30 minutes of a Palladium show. That, to me, is an acknowledgment that the rest of it has already been circulated unofficially.
I wouldnt think much of it if it was just Ozzy saying it, but what makes me think it's real deal unseen stuff is that it lines up with what Zakk said - he thought it was a Palladium show, and he had never seen it. He's a Rhoads freak like all of us here, AND he certainly had special access to stuff we dont get to see, so if he had never seen it then Im willing to bet that we havent either.
The other 40 minutes could be After Hours (that isnt rare to us, but to a "normal" person its rare), or Brad Gillis (again, to a normal person its rare, and its from the Diary tour) or the ET footage, or any number of other things. That statement makes a special distinction about the 30 minutes of footage, but the rest of it I think is a safe bet that we've all seen whatever it is. I dont think it's 70 minutes plus the doc, I think its 70 minutes, 30 unseen and 40 of people talking about how great Rhoads was.

Right, they would have paid for it. But as far as we know, they didnt sue him. So does that mean that anyone else with footage could now at least sell it to the O's without worrying about being sued? That was sorta my question, and hopefully it happens.sytharnia wrote:They would have paid the guy something for it..and no it won't mean its open season for releasing stuffAceVader wrote:My question is, if it's bootleg, then how did they acquire bootleg footage and what happened to the person that supplied it? Could also be the footage Tangye referred to, or the footage that was supposedly stolen from Don's house, unless of course, they're one and the same.
It seems like they're saying the film hasn't been circulated in bootleg circles before, as someone had already pointed out earlier. It means the by and large, the public hasn't seen it.
This isn't going to be the next to unwatchable Palladium footage that's been out there all of these years. There isn't much about that that would leave anyone speechless...let alone worthy of inclusion on a $150 boxed set.
As cool as the extras seem, this is all secondary for me, as we're getting back the albums, the way they're meant to be! Bob and Lee are back!!
Fuck yeah!!!

Whenever I put on Blizzard or Diary, what a wonderful, delicate furious beast.... I MISS you, man!
Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
I notice they have the cds up on ozzys site. One part says picture disc? What happened to the extended mixes on Diary?
Why someone keeps changing info. on OZZY'S Official site is kinda unprofessional in my book.

Re: Well heres what we've been waiting for...
That 30 minutes NY footage will be awesome-Zakk said something like it looked like a rehearsal but wasn't, meaning it's so close that you see the band and hear the crowd, without actually seeing the crowd. Like some others, I reckon it's very cool that they actually say '1982' footage as well. I'd love to see Randy go nuts in front of that castle even if it was just like 2 songs filmed with a hand-held.
