Re: New pics from 1980!!!
Whoops, I guess the BOO cover is different than the ridge farm studios. I DIDN'T CHECK MY MATH... Nice story and the photos look like there iare outside doors that are rounded. I always thought the BOO cover - the buildings in the background (doorway) reminded me of Zeppelin IV. The old & new. Anyone know where Diary's cover/back was shot? Fin? I have some outtakes and I'd love to see more + obviously the outtakes would be icing on the f-ing cake too!

My pleasure!, we didnt get a guided tour,we just trespassedGUITARIDOL5682 wrote:Thanks for sharing those pics, i gather the second pic down was the place the promo pics (group posed shot) where taking. I noticed the leaded glass window you can see it to Randy's right in the pic below. Did you get a guided tour of the place.
'The Plough' pub i'm sure that has a photo up on the wall of the Blizzard line up they are sitting in the corner and Randy has the black LP with him. Did you see the photo i'm on about ?. Cheers again

As for the photo of them in the pub,I dont think its The Plough, one reason is possibly that Lee Kerslake is wearing a security tag (dont think that would be needed for Ridge Farm or The Plough!),and like the studio, the pubs decor hasnt been changed for probably 100 years,so Im pretty confident its not The Plough.

Re: New pics from 1980!!!
I noticed the windows on the pub they look very similar and they look like they are in the corner of the pub. Bob looks like he's looking at a menu. I see what you mean about Kerslake wearing a security pass. So you may be right, but when did Randy get that guitar ?. Or is it one of John Thomas's guitars ?. I know he was fanatical about playing but how many guitar players would take a guitar into a pub ?. If he was under pressure and needing to get a solo worked out for a track in the studio ?. Pure speculation, answers on a postcard......!!!singerman71 wrote: As for the photo of them in the pub,I dont think its The Plough, one reason is possibly that Lee Kerslake is wearing a security tag (dont think that would be needed for Ridge Farm or The Plough!),and like the studio, the pubs decor hasnt been changed for probably 100 years,so Im pretty confident its not The Plough.

Re: New pics from 1980!!!
lol only way to settle this is i'm going to go to The Plough this weekend and see if i can get this confirmed!!!.....another piece of info,I play in a band and we did a gig a few years ago at Clearwell Castle, didnt realise at the time that the band rehearsed and wrote there during the Blizzard sessions!,Damn!! if I had know that I would have taken loads of pics!.....anyone have any pics from those sessions???
And again Clearwell castle is in the middle of nowhere and very very difficult to find, guess thats why so many bands used it in the seventies
For anyone with two mins to spare do look at my bands website if you need a function band

Singerman cheers for trying to get this photo authenticated. You never know some people who worked there in the 80's may still be there. You may get some interesting info and your bro is like me, too much spare time

Re: New pics from 1980!!!
I had been searching for some info on here and i found this thread. I love how we have the new photos showing the studio with the band playing etc. I was looking at this photo here and noticed the light shining in to the right of the photo in front of Randy's 'chippan'. It is more then likely just where that stable door/half door is open. The group shot looks like it was taking just to the right of the door opening. Yeah i have far too much spare time... What a nerd
