I know what you mean, I have one cab lying around here loaded with four EVM12L (ZW) speakers and it's heavy as hell to carry.... Compared the specs of those EVM12L's with the Altecs and the EVM's are even a little heavier! Must be though for the Zakk Wylde crew.....
I only use that cab when lots of volume is needed, it needs to be pushed to sound good. But usually I use celestion loaded cabs. At lower volume it sounds better and they are much easier to haul around too.
