Re: Trip to LA
Cheers for the info.
Re: Trip to LA
First off thanks for the well wishes for my wife-she's having surgery tomorrow,me and the kids have come home and a close friend of ours we had flown out (she's a nurse) will be taking care of her and accompany her home.
Now for the trip to Musonia-Kelle was beyond GREAT!! words cannot describe what a great person he is. now I am probably one of the most weird visitors Musonia has ever had because I was absolutely blown away by the history and architecture of the building we spent a lot of time just talking about the structure itself!! (I even got to see how they light the furnaces if necessary-okay I'm an electrical inspector the place is beyond cool) the idea that Mrs.Rhoads and her partners had for this school and to build it as a single mother in the 1950's is beyond most peoples comprehension today and I was humbled to be in the building just thinking about that-you don't see character in people like that these days and Inow understand why the Rhoads family IS so successful and humble.
Now for the stuff us diehards care about-details!!!! As for updates on the documentary-send me a PM and I will tell you what I was told it's nothing we don't know but it will nail down the truth of the whole mess and keep the lurkers out of it because we know they are all watching the forums(they know you by name btw) I made the promise not to post gory details and I will keep it. On that note I was told to let everyone here know that:
NO website is endorsed by the Rhoads family and NO donations are EVER requested for the RR scholorship-the money was fronted to create the scholarship and invested and dispersed as needed.READ BETWEEN THE LINES-if you donate to the scholarship the money goes into someone else's pocket . The family Knows that ultimate Rhoads and tk are solid and are aware of our dedication to Randy.
As for Mrs .Rhoads -she was not in attendance for my visit .kelle told us "She is in and advanced age and unable to come to the school" Enough said.
Anyway now to some coolstuff Kelle let me "dig" and I found a ton of stuff I guarantee NOBODY has even cared to look at or for-some not guitar related but I found stuff Kelle had not ssen since he was a kid with Randy!! We laughed and had a blast looking through stuff he never knew he had!!
Musiona safe at night?

Prove i was there

Promise to Kelle

My wife at the table where the Jackson guitar was blue printed

Back porch at Musonia

Kelle talking to a certain bass player coming out with a book he is writing the foreword for( and may have played on a albunm or 2 his brother did
)

Randys chair

And as a choker I was permitted to take a photo of this and the others were a no photo posting promise(you figure it out) -as a guitarist i was barely hanging on!!!
Don't hang me but anyone held these guitars!

Came at a high price Kelle kept my wife

I will post more as requests time permits.

Re: Trip to LA
Jay thanks alot for your road trip, i know your visit would of been very special. But more importantly i hope your wife makes an excellent recovery after her surgery. It looks promising for KG's book with the trolls and the BS that flys about you don't know what to believe. Your visit must of been like many RR fans who want to make the pilgrimage to see Musonia and the remaining Rhoads family.. 'A dream come true'. Let us know how your wife is doing on her return home ok. Cheers

Awsome pics, the Pic in the upper left Drawing really in the 2nd from bottom, was drawn by a guy I met in Cleveland (I went to his studio when I was 16-17) I didnt believe him until he showed me his pics,I was blown away....Not to mention the STAX of Guitar magazines he had w/Dee holding his picture in it.He said she was so taken aback after he spent months drawing that for his class then driving 2500 miles to give it to her that she let them stay thee night??? like I said I didnt believe it till I saw the Pics
