Re: So Randy had Two different white concordes?
I have read quotes from both grover and kelle saying there were NO more guitars being made for randy...so who really knows. Hopefully we will get to see the vault one day because kelly has mentioned that randy had 2 other les pauls (one being the black beauty we all know about)
Re: So Randy had Two different white concordes?
It's very coincidental, if I have this correct, that the guy who owns Randy's 3rd proto, is the same guy that sold it on Grover??? What did he sell it for (to the first guy)? What does Grover think about this? Awesome guitar. I remember the Randy Rhoads remembered '84 guitar world where Grover had said it was accidentally sold at a Namm show and didn't know it's whereabouts.

grover had 3 more guitars for randy in the works before he died.. randy never played them.. the white one that was finished and sold... a black one with a floyd and another one i cant think of the color.

I know that grover has said the a long time ago...but very recently both he and kelle have said there were NO ore guitars being made for randy. I will try and hunt out the interview

its funny how alot of peoples memory changes from year to year.

it could be that he mentioned having more guitars for randy to increase his profile I guess.....sik_kreations wrote:sytharnia wrote:I know that grover has said the a long time ago...but very recently both he and kelle have said there were NO ore guitars being made for randy. Re: So Randy had Two different white concordes?
It's likely he had more made so that he could work out all the "kinks" in the guitar. The Concorde had it's problems, so Randy had another one made. It's possible that one had its problems, so he had more made. Or he had more made with different things put in them. (Wood, bridges, pickups, whatever)

Right, so it's possible he wanted one with a Floyd Rose on it.

I don't know who would want one of them on it. I have one on my Douglas and it screws all the tuning up. If it does go out of tune, you have to use the tiny tuners on the Tremolo to tune it... which is a pain in the buttCryptic Night wrote:Right, so it's possible he wanted one with a Floyd Rose on it.

I don't know WHY he would, I would just assume he wanted to try it and see what it was all about. EVH used one a lot, and since Randy admired EVH so much, maybe he wanted to see what it was like?

Re: So Randy had Two different white concordes?
not to mention it was the hot new thing. think in the early 80s and being able to slam on the whammy bar and not have it go out of tune as easy as a standard fender tremolo would.
Re: So Randy had Two different white concordes?
in randys seminar didnt he mention a new tremolo system he was getting soon?i always took it to be the kahler tremolo?
