Compared to one of the 50 signed/aged Jeff Beck Oxblood Les Pauls at $25,000, it's actually a bargain I suppose... :|

I am trying to remember the details of this comment by Kevin, and I am wondering if the date confusion is based around Randy GETTING the guitar in '75, but perhaps it sat on the shelf as a '74 and sat for a while until it was bought for him by their manager (if that is how the story went).

Food for thought. - Jimmy

I am not a guitarist but I am coming to the veiw that signature guitars are stupid! OK Randys guitars looked great BUT the prices people charge nowadays is beyond stupid!
Appart from the PDV RR's guitars looked very stock, IE they were not emblazened with a trademark finish so to a non fan they just looked like nice guitars. But to stick such big stupid prices on them seems greedy and I think people are better off getting an LP and playing it!

RR's Concorde wasn't stock. That was completely custom as well. I think the price they wanted was ridiculous when they were selling the replicas, but it was a very unique guitar. Still is, in my opinion.

And his second custom Jackson was also not a stock guitar, even by todays standards it's different. (No tremolo on his, whereas the ones today have Floyd Roses on them)

I would say the only guitar that he used live that was stock was his LP. Even then, he did make very small cosmetic changes to it. Not enough to jack the price up $5000.
