I still have not heard anything back from Bob Daisley. This is weird as he is on the ball with replying regular to his fan mail. So i'm thinking it must be serious if he hasn't came back with any reason for these albums not to come out. He was asked the same question a few weeks ago when the news was announced. He said he didn't know anything about it then. If someone could visit his site and raise the issue and try to be cool don't go in blasting off with the where is these albums. Then if a few people do bring up the question he may make an announcement.
Matt, Ian, Shaun...What's happening with the $haron facebook project could you enlighten me / us as i don't do the facebook thing. Cheers

Hi

It is a pressure group of 1100 members (100 more since yesterday) asking politely that we may be able to see pro shot footage of RR!
I certainly don't think we as fans are owed anything! But I do think it would just be nice to see some more of Randy Rhoads' music in the public domain! The comments in this thread about his legacy being dealt with now and not tomorrow I agree with whole heartedly.

I hope that whomever deals with this talented musicians legacy starts to understand what is at stake! I have spoken with Ozzy fans who have never heard of Randy Rhoads! without some effort being put into promoting Randy by releasing new material or alternate versions of recordings we know OR rehersals etc! Randy will be forgotten within a generation.
That will be very sad indeed because I am begining to beleive that any chance of bringing Randy to a new audience is already lost and only these forums will remain as a place to stuble across him.
Should my worse fears be realised it is a sad ending to one of the most important unknown musicians in the world of Rock music.

Don't give up man. You have 1,300 people on this forum that love Randy and these forums. Just keep it up. Go to other Ozzy sites and advertise the forums. Once people visit these forums, they will love Randy!

I seen this over at facebook and Bob is replying to fans over there. So i'm going with the gut feeling that for legal reasons he aint letting the cat out the bag. I cannot see his reasons being any different to the Blizzard albums being released now. So i'm sure this is not going to happen now if this has anything to go by.

Question to:-Bob, have you ever been approached to do a Classic Albums documentary for Blizzard of Ozz or Diary of a Madman? Sabbath just did one for Paranoid. Would you ever consider this? Would be awesome to hear you and Lee talk about those albums and the history behind the band Blizzard of Ozz.

Bob Daisley
Hi AW, I know that would be a good idea and those albums certainly deserve the attention but I'm not sure if that could ever happen with the complicated politics involved. Stranger things have happened though, you never know. Cheers squire..., Bob.

Matt I appreciate your effort, I think the petition is fine, can't hurt of course, but is directed to the wrong person. I think $haron is more on our side than most people realize. If it was up to the O's they released footage already decades ago. You need to do a Rhoads petition project too.... (because without their 'approval' you will get nothing)

I get that people need to be paid appropriately for their work, legal matter have to be sorted and that people want to do the best by Randy's memory...at least their version of the best thing. :?

What annoys is that the fans really are the last in line in the list of priorities that have to be satisfied. The handling of Randy's legacy on audio/video stuff has been at best mediocre, despite some being well intentioned. Compared to the management of other great musos who left us too early it has been very ordinary. Metallica put out a video of mainly bootleg footage inside of 2 years of Cliff Burton leaving us. Even though the production costs were probably low that one act showed class all the way cos it meant that they actually gave a damn about those fans who remembered the guy.

Randy is one of the best rock guitarists the world has ever seen yet he has a small cult following and it's not likely to get much bigger despite the efforts of all the mods and members across the boards. WTF?

Man,im away for one day and this topic already has 4 pages!!
This is Awful & all too expected, unfortionatly
There is prolly legal shit going on & all involved are legally bound to keep quiet,IMHO.If there is indeed "bonus material" w/Bob & Lee that has to be sorted, youd think Sharon would know/be on top of thisbefore making announcements & Releasing Flyers/Promotional tools in Ozzys latest Scream record.
If we get to hear the "Pre-Production Demos" god knows how that would be handled being that they have stated to have used quite a few drummers before Lee & who knows if they'll be credited??? And what I really hope is that Footage exsists w/Bob & Lee ,but again.....Legal Drama
But in their defense Bob & Lee are OWED a substantal amount for their contributions & you know if Ozzy were in the same situation Sharon would die trying to make sure he got proper credit & payment. As for Randys royalties????You know that the Rhoads were never asked about the re-recordings & from the sounds of it Ozzy wasnt either??

I found this which was mentioned back in May this year ?.

Chuck Chaklader ‎"They (Blizzard & Diary reissues) are coming out for (US) Thanksgiving and they will be on the
market then. It's going back to the original recordings with (Bob)
Daisley (bass) and (Lee) Kerslake (drums). And there will be a lot of
stuff that you haven't heard before in the packages. Like certain
conversations that were going on in the studio with the guys just
messing around while the tape was still rolling. All of that will be
added into it." Sharon Osbourne. What do you make of this Bob???
20 May at 02:45

Mike Warren Plus she says they've got 2 shows including Randy that they're working on for release...
20 May at 05:09
Bob Daisley To Chuck - It sounds like the tapes I have but I haven't worked out anything with the Osbournes yet, maybe they're jumping the gun a bit. Cheers, Bob.
To Mike - We'll soon see. Cheers, Bob.

Mike Warren Either way, we're getting the originals restored, so that's good news. The 2 concerts and the studio extras would be incredible to have finally released. Bob, any ideas on the shows, were you guys ever filmed? I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve lol. Thanks Bob, have a great one.
20 May at 14:55
Bob Daisley Sorry Mike, I don't know much about what they have or what will be included in the re-releases. 'Guess you'll have to wait until Christmas morning...:-) Cheers mate, Bob.

I would find it kind of funny if Sharon re-recorded the studio material and replaced Bob and Lee's voices/instruments with his current lineup...

And if there's any video with them, they'll super-impose his current lineup over Bob and Lee's bodies!

lmfao

I could almost see it happening.

so lets get this all straight......

its MORE important to f*** Bob and Lee out of any royalty payments owed........than it is to preserve and continue Randy Rhoads legacy.
That's pretty much correct, isn't it?

Don't worry about that ever happening Ian. Crazy Train is a staple at NBA Basketball games. Most of the new generation just don't know that Randy is the one playing lead guitar. That can easily be corrected whenever someone teaches the song to a guitar student. In the immortal words of Jack Black, "He's more than a man, he's a shiny golden GOD!" I still feel the legacy is in the hands of the fans. I never allow anyone to tell me I should feel this way or that way when things don't go the way they should. Money rules the game. And that is just what it is, a game. I know there are at least 20,000 Randy fans (on Facebook anyway) but how many would step up as an organized force to get some of these problems resolved. We all want an established legacy where things are organized. Instead we have a legacy that is either mis-managed or feels powerless to accomplish real goals. Everything that "we" RR fans discuss or complain about is solveable. The museum? No problem. There are enough fans with enough rare memorbillia that would love to step up and be part of that situation. The unseen footage? No problem. We know it exists. If we could find the other main sources (not just the Osbournes) then there could be some "positive" pressure put on them to either show it publically or get the proper permission to purchase it. I wouldn't care if it's "Shakey Cam" stuff either. I could always re-edit it myself. The originals? Hell I already have those so that is simply meaningless to me. The extra "outro" material? Well, once again I'm sure that one person does not possess it all. I'm sure others have had their hands on it after all of these years. Like all things, it takes time before we discover its whereabouts. We did get validation on the footage. It just took a whole internet community and 30 years to bring it up to the surface. Maybe the fans should write a song (like Vivian Campbell did for Hear-N-Aid) expressing their desire to get Randy's legacy the proper recognition it deserves.

Yeah, but 30 years seems like an awful long time for these things. :?

And at my school, the pep band plays Crazy Train during the basketball sports season. Sadly it's in a different key, and my teacher wants it played at ridiculously high speeds (I get the point she's making, but playing classics like that, and Smoke On The Water really fast, takes the feeling out of the music for me.) and this one time I played it with them, I slowed down tremendously (Not because I couldn't keep up, but because I was so used to playing it at the live speed that it threw me off)

I do get to play the guitar part for it though. Basically the only reason I bring my electric guitar and amp set-up to the games is JUST for THAT song, but I occasionally play other stuff.

I believe it's the Paul Murtha arrangement, if you've never listened to it. It always fills me with happiness that on the music sheet it says "Written by Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads, and Bob Daisley"

Sorry for the ramble there.
