It's always the one bad apple theory that ruins things but things kinda got crazy when the film was announced. I know I waited patiently for any updates and it just seemed like things kept getting pushed back and back. It was hard because carrots were dangled and I don't think that was right because many people waited YEARS for any new footage. I can see how some people would get pissed and say things they shouldn't or feel like the balloon was losing air. Also, this board is made of people of all ages and i know I didn't use the old brain as well as I should have when I was younger(the whole age equates to wisdom is very true lol)
So the trailer gets leaked and hell breaks loose. The boards go crazy and its chaos lol. People are being sued for stealing, people are even threatened to be sued for watching it. People defend the fans and people jump ship from the doc, important people. Every month that goes by with silence is very telling, then enter the Osbornes and the box set.
Thanksgiving will be a truly thankful day!?
Many people have waited a long time for more Randy footage, some people sadly moved on from this earth not seeing that footage. The doc lost a ton of steam/interest once the Osbornes talked about the box set that will include a documentary??? Hmmm.....
So where are we folks? No documentary, a box set that could be the holy grail for us Randy fans, many forks in the road, many people hurt and some people stooping to very low levels.
For me, I'm actually more excited to see Jack's documentary to be honest. I'm looking forward to the box set and the video footage(cross fingers) I hope the video footage is what we have wished for and I hope it brings some closure to a lot of people who dreamed of footage for years and years. I hope it inspires young guitar players like it did for me 22 years ago(seems like yesterday)

Personally, I think Dakota's documentary has been completed, Delores Rhoads wasn't thrilled with the final product and doesn't want it released in it's current form. So Peter is working to keep his integrity intact by not changing things too much (the cutting room floor) to please Mrs. Rhoads, yet editing enough to get her approval.
Such a scenario would explain why no new info is being released, especially since these forums do go insane over the tiniest tidbits of info.

I have often wondered if I will be able to go into more detail about the months leading up to that Trailer getting here or what 'some people' were doing on quiet, I suppose not though! because all the old drama's and the newer ones have no real benefit so perhaps sleeping dogs should lie and people should have there oppinions on certain people remain as they are without anything being added by me.
One thing I agree with Patrick that trailer is likely to be all we see and Peters threats were what undid him and he should have known better, at the time it seemed like politics and those political events were not handled very well because if they had been Peter would have been riding a popularity wave and we would have been knocked back and would have had to work hard to re-build a damaged forum.
That wasn't the case.
That said I got no personel plessure from any if it except dissapointment at how Peter handled himself.

I would love to see a documentary on Randy Rhoads. Seeing and hearing stories of the people that knew and worked with him would be ideal. Something that would show the rest of the world the music that played an immense part in my musical development, that would hopefully inspire other people to pick up an instrument, yeah that would be fantastic.
That is the documentary side of it, regardless of the personality behind the production of the product I would love for this to happen, as much for me as for Randy.

I was actually making fun of the 'freedom of speech' thing. Ian and Joe have all kinds of behind-the-scenes stuff they allude to but won't discuss. They also freely censor things they deem offensive, but not things that offend others.

I find this all to be funny, that's all. It's freakin' RR stuff not national security issues. What harm could leaked trailers or news hurt the cause of Randy's Memory? Except promote the demand for it. People miss Randy, that's all.
