Wasn't Peter in the very beginning chosen by the Rhoads to make the doc?
Isn't it 'odd' they don't have any contact with Peter anymore and really don't know about the progress of the doc.....? (according Kelle R) From what I heard the Rhoads family wasn't happy with the doc. But I think they rather do not want to say that in public. The 'silence' should be enough I guess.

I think it was plan A to put something out (the doc) without any involvement of the O's, but that failed..... But a lot of work and investment has been done by Dakota, little problem there.... so that's how the O's got involved, and voila: plan B is there and after all these decades 'suddenly' pro-footage seems to exist though! But still a bit painful situation if they are 'forced' to cooperate with the O's though to put out something..... (after all the publishing about the doc there was some pressure to do something, right? )

So maybe the 3th film the O's talked about is a sort of altered version of the doc? Who knows. Hopefully we'll find out this year! (to be honest I rather see 3 pro-concerts! )

Anything can happen, if the Rhoads are not happy with whatever it is, then it won't come out. The O's do respect their wishes still. So I'm a little worried there is some silence for a while now about the pro-footage, hope there are no disagreements behind the scenes.... Considering it all (also the issues with Bob & Lee etc.) it's still a complex situation. Hope all is well and nobody screwed up......

Appreciate it CN. I can get to them in pretty short order. I have a standard reply that I use now so no worries about waiting too long for a reply. I am just very careful about wording my PM's. I've already caught myself embellishing a little bit in the first few so now I stick to my notes to make sure I don't say something out of context. That's how those ugly rumors get started...

it is odd, but they have made several decisions of late that have been a little ill judged in my opinion. I think they must be the kind of family (to their credit too!) who see the best in everyone. It is a lovely quality, but one that means others that are more savy, with modern mediums like the internet for example, can take advantage of their name, for their own agenda.

that's what Peter emailed me about 2 months ago. I guess the issues of music to be used in the film was to be worked out with the O's. From what I understand it's been contingent upon the release of the box set. I think Nov. should be interesting to see what happens with the box set and all coming out, whether it follows.

If you know the answer to the question, answer it! If you want to keep your word to whoever 'swore you to secrecy', then don't offer the info in private. That's still breaking the promise you claimed to have made.

If the promise was that UR wouldn't divulge info publicly - and I'm betting on this one - in return for being the first 'allowed' to give the info (and thus being 'the best' RR forum), then this place and it's 'freedom of speech' rhetoric is tarnished by the childish secrets.

So, if Peter has finished the documentary, and he's got a version with the original music, why couldn't he throw Bob's interview into it? If I recall correctly, Bob's only problem was that he wouldn't sign off on his interview unless the original music was used. (Well, that, and Peter's bad people skills, and the fact that Bob wanted $10,000)

has UR upset you Paul re the film; or are you meaning just one or a few individuals?

Re the sites integrity; UR was offered approved status once and rejected it (politely), on the grounds of wishing to stay non partisan, something I think they do a good job with. I bet if you surveyed the moderators, admin and members, you would be surprised (compared to many other forums) how much peoples back grounds and views differ to each others. In short it is very tolerant. You have to be a real out and out nuisance to be banned! and the few people that have been were given so many chances.

I don't mind laying my cards on the table and say to you hand on heart, that I know as much as in this thread re the film.
If I am bluntly honest I haven't been overly excited about the film for a good couple of years but I am a RR fan and appreciate others might be looking forward to it, so yes from that aspect excited for others.
