Mabey Cableguy was right???

"I've mentioned before, but back in the early 80's, in a local San Fernando Valley news paper's for sale section, someone was selling a 20 minute video of Randy in the studio recording Over The Mountain. They wanted $100 at the time, so no way I could afford it. I believe there is stuff like that still around. Probably plenty of stuff that has never, nor will ever see the light of day either, sadly."

I thought that was AMAZING that you saw this in print & nobody else has even mentioned it until now!!!!

From RRTK
"Heard Zak on Liquid Metal which is a satellite station. He commented on the reissues stating that there is a "ton" of bootleg video stuff that is of high quality. Unfortunately he mentioned "it is from a small place" with just the drum riser and amps on stage. Obviously not the castle. He also mentioned outtakes from Diary. Mostly notably, he spoke of the solo break loops where Randy was working out the solo for Over the Mountain. He said that you can hear him playing loop after loop working out ideas and developing the finished solo."

The most promising comment was when he said that Rhoads fans are basically going to freak out.

It wasn't in a national magazine like Circus or Hit Parader. I saw it in "The Recycler" San Fernando Valley edition, which means it would have only been seen by someone looking in the audio/video for sale section of that one local "For Sale" paper, and only for the couple of weeks the ad ran, so it's very likely to have gone unnoticed. I only happened to have seen it because I was looking every place possible at the time for Randy stuff. On top of that, The Recycler was a paid for paper, not a free one, so the odds that a Randy Rhoads fan would have seen it in the first place were not high. Keep in mind, this is waaaaaaaay before the internet and all RR stuff was found via magazine or record shows. Hardly crazy

This is the "paper" i was referencing: http://www.recycler.com/

MrAxeman, please don't hijack this thread and try to drive to your monsterous thread about randy's pedals. The two threads have nothing to do with one another and it cause a bit of "clutter" for the other users. That said, I believe that other thread belongs in the "technical" or off topic section. Truth is no one is really certan what randy's exact setup was.
Life's a stage and we're all in the cast.
