Re: Great News and...
Great news on the releases of Blizzard and Diary! I can't wait to hear the extras a let's keep it positive vibes! Here are a few points to stir up interest...
- I'd really like all the full songs from the ET '82 footage. I'm thinking there was only OTM and Mr. Crowley. We saw the "extra" Randy solo and ending in the trailer! If you look in the beginning of interview where they show the start of the show, I don't see a single soul in the audience which would make it a dress rehearsal, exclusively shot for ET.
- Being from Rochester, Afterhours has become like a Veitnam or Woodstock story (I was there or someone I knew) and one guy I know who knew someone there (although they are in the music biz) said they taped each song several times. I can't verify this (and they could of been taped over) but it wasn't a "live" show (shown a month later - verified by Janet Merium Interview 96WCMF 4/28/81) and the Channel 31 Studios were a small building on East ave - it might be still here but probably changed. I do remember passing the building thinking, After Hours was shot here, damn.
- On the brave new worlds website that has the Sharon transcript it also has the Newcastle '80 audio (listed as Glasgow) below. Any reason?
- '81 NYC. The first set had no solo spot (that would of sucked!). Check your boots. If that footage was super 8, wouldn't it cut more? I'm no expert at all but every super 8 video bootleg (VH, Zep) I've ever seen always cuts after 3 minutes. Were there different size REELS? And (don't get me wrong) I like the footage but this wouldn't get my panties wet like, "We HAVE to release this!" What else is there???

There were two predominant lengths of Super 8 MOTION PICTURE FILM stock, at that time.
The (most common) "standard consumer" length was 50 feet (3 minutes). There were both SILENT and SOUND camera models and film stock.
There was also a 200 ft. SOUND CAMERA length (12 minutes).

Re: Great News
I know this has been talked about a gazillion times, but KISS has tons of great footage from the '70s. Look at the first Kissology release. It's not like the '80s was completely in the dark about technology. Yes, of course Ozzy and Randy weren't as big as KISS back then.
You guys should just set up a poll of what might be included in the RR boxed set. Whomever is correct will win ... I don't know ... they'll win bragging rights.

Re: Great News
If you compare the Palladium footage of those 13 min Ozzy/Randy we have with that '78 Foghat stuff, do you think those 13 min originates from the in-house cams there?funk49 wrote:Well here's my two cents worth. I have some pro shot footage of Foghat from 1978 which was shot at the NY Palladium. The quality of the film is awesome with three camara angles one camara from in front of the stage maybe from a balcony and one on each side of the stage with close ups. If one of the concerts is from the Palladium I don't expect to be dissappointed at all.
(was looking on youtube for some Foghat Palladium footage but couldn't find it)

Man I sure hope not. I teach a sound to color relationship to my guitar students with ADD. They learn quite well relating different colors to different pitches. I read about this interesting concept in college. I even "color-barred" my entire fretboard on each of my three guitars.Shockwave wrote:Rainbows = homosexuals
This is what it looks like on a keyboard.

This is a real theory that was just never utilized in music. Since A=440 Hz was not established until 1936 by the American Standards Association, most individuals just gave up using this relationship. It's damn cool though, and way before Guitar Hero I might add...

Yep! he wasn't rude or judge people based on anything like rainbows, he was a great guitarist and writer and had an overall not no picky approach to things and he would want us to see video footage.hansolo wrote:Um, anyone got anything to say about Randy?
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.
Re: Great News
Well Dutch sorry to get back to so late on this. I'm not comparing the 13 minutes of bootleg stuff that we have all seen, that material is crap compared to a pro shot video. The Foghat material from the NY Palladium is part of a thing they did for a blues tribute and is awesome quality. If you want a copy PM me and we'll see how we can get it posted for you all to see it.

Here's a link to some of the footage. It says live in 1977 but this is some of the Foghat NY Palladium footage.

This is interesting indeed...is this anything to do with the Russian Composer Alexander Scriabin and his Influence of colour on the circle of fifths? And what kinds of material do you use to teach with?
