Great POSITIVE thinking guys. That's what we need lots of in order to make even better things happen for Randy in the future. Last year was a new beginning. We got the Relic to honor Randy and this year we will get Randy wine (in August) and newly released footage of Randy (in November). That totally kicks ass!! Also on the agenda...more songs on Ozzy's set list may include songs from BOO and DOAM. Oh yeah, you also get your dream wish of the original drums and bass in the box set. Am I forgetting anything? That's pretty damn cool if you ask me...

This is all crazy now. He gave them a copy of what he has recorded, then
Sharon mentions they are transfering stuff from 20 minute reels. Maybe there
really is multiple shows, and not just both Palladium sets. Just speculating,
but whatever comes out, I'm going to be overly greatful for!!

Didn't he did a Spotlight Solo the during the second set at the Palladium? I don't think he did a solo on the first set though
Because I'm listening to the bootlegs and I have audio where he does a solo. So unless I have the wrong bootleg there is a spotlight solo :P
Randy did a spotlight solo in the 2nd Palladium set!
(check the audio section! :) )

Re: Randy Rhoads Palladium footage
Re: Randy Rhoads Palladium footage Nope, thats it. Just 13min.
In '81 I was a HUGE Motorhead fan so I saved all my film for them and only had 13min of film left for Ozzy. Sound, color 8mm film was really expensive in 1981.

You have to understand in 1981 Ozzy was not a huge solo artist and Randy was unknown. Motorhead was huge even though they were the opening act. I kick myself a lot for not splitting the footage evenly between the two bands. Otherwise I'd have had about 35min of Ozzy instead of 13min.

The ONLY reason the Palladium footage is out there is because someone in Ozzy's camp starting selling copies to collectors in the mid 90's. I gave it to Sharon & Ozzy in 1989 here in NYC during the "No Rest for the Wicked" tour. Until then no one outside my friends had seen it - and even then they had to come to my house when I set up the 8mm projector. I had it transferred to VHS in 1988.

Glad the world is enjoying it though. I recently had the footage re-transferred to digital and cleaned up a bit. Looks great.

I wouldn't say that's it. I would say it would be one of them now most likely. They said two shows though and a film.

One is palladium, one is a show where there trying to something in between the tapes being switched. The 3rd is whatever

Who knows it could be a whole new palladium recording

Kinda my first reaction too. I would love to see those 13 minutes with clearer audio and video, but man it would be cool to see something we havent seen before.

Didnt Ozzy say "never seen before" about the footage? Here's to hoping it is more that just 13 minutes.

2 shows and a 3rd film....all sorts of scenarios and combinations. Here's a few

Scenario 1
Show 1: Palladium footage?
Show 2: whatever they are transfering from the 20-minute reels Sharon referred to?
Film 3: Randy Documentary?

Scenario 2
show 1: sharon's referrence to 20 minute reel-to-reel tapes
show 2: the second show she was referring to with above-style tapes
film 3: Palladium footage

Worst case scenario (which still would be cool in my book, due to the high-profile exposure)
show 1: Palladium 13-minute footage
show 2: Margolis footage of ET
film 3: After Hours

I don't want to get all "CSI" on this...but she clearly says there are 2 shows and a third film. I'm starting to think the Palladium footage we've seen are NOT the shows they are referring to. Reason being is there is nothing to transfer! The dude filmed 13 minutes and that's it. He gave the Osbourne's his final cleaned up copy. I'm going to try and temper my excitement...but the proof's in the pudding. I think they have 2 shows and that were either lost to time or their archives and the Randy doc as well as the Ozzy doc shook some bushes and rattled a few memories.

I don't believe that "13 mins" of the Palladium show is all they have. Even Sharon knows that 13mins isn't going to get them any sort of money being how she's a business woman. It could be a combination of sources the Osbourne's have accumulated. So they have 13mins from this guy and some other minutes from another person that was at the show.

Also I wouldn't rule out that it could be another NY show. Ozzy said it was "one of the very early shows in New York". Remember they played quite a few during the tour.
April 29th - Auditorium Theater, Rochester, NY
April 30th - Landmark Theater, Syracuse, NY
May 2nd - Palladium Theater, New York, NY (1st show)
May 2nd - Palladium Theater, New York, NY (2nd show)
May 3rd - Poughkeepsie, NY
May 6th - Shea's Buffalo Theater, Buffalo, NY

It just seems likely that the Palladium that footage the Osbournes are talking about. They refer to two shows and the Palladium has two sets, so it would logically to make sense of that and also with the footage on Youtube and the recent comments this guy has made regarding the show. I mean you can argue the possible combineations that Osbournes have in the archives but we won't fully know until we get details from them themselves later this year :)

You have to look at it this way.. If 13 mins is all they really have, and they intend on putting it out with the BOO and Diary 30th anniversary editions then yes it would get them money.. However, I dont believe that 13 mins is all they have.. Ozzy was apparently very impressed with the footage, and Sharon does speak of 20 minute REELS. "Reels" indicating more than one. And also very true that just because Ozzy says its New York it doesnt mean that its nessesarily the Palladium show.. Didnt Ozzy also tell someone at a book signing that it was indeed Pro Shot?? Sorry, but I dont consider 8mm footage as pro shot.. Maybe Wareagle will be able to tell us soon what Bill is planning to show?

I dont believe for one second that its After Hours.. Im thinking that since she speaks of 3 seperate things, that we likely have 2 concerts, and maybe the 13 mins of 8mm footage is the "film" that she speaks of. It wont be After Hours.. Ozzy himself said the footage was something new.. They used the After Hours footage in the Dont Blame Me documentary and released it as part of a cd years ago.. So that isnt new.. Sharon would have said if one of them was After Hours..

For eight(!) years folks on these boards have gone on about the crimes done to these fine albums. Now that we hear they are allegedly being restored to their rightful and former glories, all most are able to focus on is the gravy that may or may not come with the meat and potatoes. We have no way of knowing how much gravy there will be, or what flavor the gravy is, but, as of now, it's all about the gravy.
One thing that needs to be kept in mind, is that it is $haron Osbourne holding the gravy ladle!
There has been no press conference concerning this release that includes all of the specifics...this was more of an aside with some vague sketches that was spoken of for about sixty seconds while talking about Ozzfest and Ozzy's upcoming release.
Like I said before: Most are cruising on a serious high right now. Myself? I was 14 in '82, so it's been awhile and I'm feeling happy and somewhat excited, but I'm keeping it cautiously optomistic.
It's fun to speculate, and It's making for good conversation, but some of you are getting wound up and upset over things we aren't even sure are concrete yet.
Blizzard & Diary are coming out in November. They are being remastered with the original performers restored.
For now, go with that, as the albums are the important thing: the meat and potatoes.
As far as the gravy? Wait until the big announcement come July in the Aug. issue of guitar player. This should be big news, I'm sure $haron will do some sort of press on just the re-releases alone.
At this point, Bob has yet to be contacted, as others here have stated. It's easy enough to check his FB page, because it is the main question being posed to him on his wall. Either that, or he cannot speak specifics.
I would venture to guess that she will have to speak to Bob and Lee. They are still paid as writers on those albums, so something may have to be hashed out. She may also have to get their ok on the studio banter that supposedly is planned to go with the albums, as it is their voices.
What was up with the crowd at that press junket anyway? Were they too shocked to respond? There was zero applause. Do they not know who Randy Rhoads is/was? Did they not realize she ruined these two classic albums nearly a decade ago?
As I said, I'm waiting til I have these in hand this Thanksgiving before I start doing backflips. $haron will most certainly get my cash, but I don't feel the need to thank her for fixing something she fucked up in the first place!
Whenever I put on Blizzard or Diary, what a wonderful, delicate furious beast.... I MISS you, man!
