I prefer application development to web dev, I actually enjoy working with Java. I tell you what though I would love to meet the people that write those APIs. Grrrrrrrrrr, strangle, kick, pass me a beer.skezza wrote: Never used sharepoint, but it could be worse... it could be the Java3D API
Don't get me started on that!

Ahh, I actually meant Java as an application technology rather than a web technology. I rarely use Javascript as such. I use Java to build cross platform applicationsshawn wrote:I prefer application development to web dev, I actually enjoy working with Java. Given the opportunity, I would have much preferred OpenGL or even JOpenGL to Java3D. I just don't think Java3D was appropriate for the task I was doing at the time, but still.

meh, i block all javascript on all websites, horrible stuff, it should get the ban hammer!
Re: Great job on the logo up top!
I started strait out on object orientated programming. My first lecturer had us using Delphi "because it is a strongly typed language", now there is a language that I do not enjoy. There is a entire conversation in itself once it comes to swing, a bastard version of model view controller. In general I would say that Swing has been nice to me, no complaints from me there.
I have only used OpenGL once on a real world project, luckily I was working with a frigin genius at the time, I tell ya it helps haha.
You know when you learn a new technology it would help if some bastard some where would put out a nice simple hello world just so that you can see it in action and wrap your head around it quickly. Invariable its some abstract use of the technology or totally pathetic example, another grrrrrrrr moment.
Shockwave I do not use inline scripting because of people just like you hahhahha.
