I had a bit of a chuckle seeing it all there in front of me!
I think it is worth pointing out that many posters and moderators post at all three sites nowadays, Which I think is great!
Also in real life when you exchange bad words you can say the most nasty things and also be the victim of nasty things said back... but, the next day it is all forgotten about. The written word obviously sticks and makes it appear a permanent view of the poster. Mostly it is how the person felt about the topic they were writing about at that moment. When you re read stuff and remember that the context does change completely!
Re Peter's relations with Randy key figures. As outsiders we wil hear equally convincing protestations from all the sides. That aside I think it is very sad Peter fell out with Kevin kelly and also Bob Daisley.

When you start reading the time line you realise what a farce the whole documentary 'thing' has become. What started out as a project to honour one of the greatest guitar players that ever lived turned quite quickily into a colossal mess of ego, information/disinformation, frustration and disrespect. Three years later and still productless my initial thoughts were 'was it really worth it?'. However, there are some positives. Footage has been found (could be a few minutes could be a full show!) which for Randy fans is like finding the Holy Grail and news of the documentary (and its drama!) at least has brought the name Randy Rhoads further into the spotlight of the 21st Century.
Only time will tell whether a 'bunch of interviews' and some 'old footage' will be the definative celebration of the life of Randy Rhoads.
What matters is Randy's legacy will remain as it always has, a humble man with such an extraordinary talent who gifted to the world the few recordings he made and who's name has been forever written into the pages of rock history.

Ian, that is a complete falsehood. I let Joe hotlink audio from MY site early on until he was able to get the shows from you. I'm not clear on what the reason was you were banned, but I can assure you and everyone else, THAT is not the reason.Trigger wrote:Joe (Skezza) and I were banned by TK when we oopened UR and made posts letting people know when free audio was becoming available.
and "-Romeo Rose (an entity close to the film)" you may want to add "through deception".

Perhaps it would be better left as Joe and I were banned by TK after we opened UR, within a few days of opening UR, at present EA believed we were banned and then opened UR which is a common misunderstanding of the facts.
That wasn't a provocation or slur, this timeline is interesting though and filled with all the detail would be a good way of understanding what has divided as well as united the community.

You did not HAVE audio when you started , nor for a while AFTER you were banned, which I agree were not concurrent, but were very close in time. . I supplied it for a while. It was NOT the reason you were banned
and it didn't take a Mod or Admin to figure that out. Your thoughts on this may be valid to you, but it is a FACT that it is not the truth
That doesn't even make sense. Free audio was already available, both on my site and at tk. No one cared that it would be available somewhere else. I'm glad that it is, as it has helped spread Randy's music. Not to mention when you guys did eventually get your audio section it saved me a lot of bandwidth. I was regularly going over my daily and monthly allotment back then. But to say that is the reason you were banned is ridiculous.

we had audio files within days that we posted on sunday afternoons, speak with Joe he will remember.

If there were some audio files up soon after opening, my apology. I know I let Joe hotlink my audio to help get the ball rolling here. There was good deal of pushing buttons and back and forth going on, which is what ultimately was behind the banning I'm sure. Justified or not, the point is, banning was not about you two having audio on this site.
You may have let people know there was free audio around the same time as you were banned, but the two were not related.
Royal Dutch Shell breaks the record for the highest ever annual profit for a British company with a total of £13.12bn - also happened in February of 2006. Also not the reason you two were banned

Speaking of "banning" and pushing buttons-what happened to Des never see him post or any activity for quite some timecableguyxx wrote:If there were some audio files up soon after opening, my apology. I wasn't aware of that! Or the reason I was Bannedcableguyxx wrote:Royal Dutch Shell breaks the record for the highest ever annual profit for a British company with a total of £13.12bn - also happened in February of 2006. Also not the reason you two were banned

I moved this from storage to check our early audio postings they went on site during those early weekends of UR; I moved these when we opened the audio section. This is the earliest one I found, I had deleted a few things that were redundant before Christmas. This is within a month of Joe opening he registered his account on Feb 12th and mine was created on the 13th. But in real user time the first week or so was advertising building and planning.

You are right about banning times because for me it seemed like a few days because Joe and I were working on UR and the days before banning might have been about 3-4 weeks! my last visible post at TK is Feb 27th 2006 but that wasn't the last post I made the last I remember was informing people that we had another audio available although that post might have referred to the very first audio show we put on site, I would have to see all the removed threads to clarify that and to know when I was thrown out, all I remember of the kicking out was an email from Joe saying guess what!!!! etc!:?
The earliest time I seem to have made reference to any issues between myself and TK is on March 5th 2006 but the exact date must be before this I and the long drawn out 'Other place' thread began on March 12th and was started by a member after I gave a deadline for the bannings to be reversed or explained, up to that point no details were written and I myself didn't comment about the circumstances and date of my banning in that thread at all, I didn't because I wanted as an admin to remain outside of the venting but now I wish I had spoken because that way I would have a reliable date. In all it seems like mine and Joe membership at TK and UR overlapped for about aprox 18 days only.
These things I am sure were done within the rules and along with the spirit of TK at that time, I feel grateful that it happened because it gave Joe and I the determination to create a viable alternative site, this alone has assisted the broader community and helped to build bridges between many of us who were foes.

You are a cool dude Darin have a lovely weekend, and don't sweat it about the details it isn't important.

I don't pretend to speak for Des, but I'd have to say he grew tired of all of the crap that was going on and needed a break. He may have had other things in his life that were more important as well. There have actually been quite a few people at the sites who have had similar exists, although maybe not as noticeably missing. Pretty sure, he's doing fine though.JAY wrote:what happened to Des never see him post or any activity for quite some time
Ian, yes, it's good to have options.

couldnt agree more! I'm 'drawpointe' over at TK, which I've been a member since '03. I've been lurking here since '07, but for some reason only recently became a member. I'm over at US too. I like the options, plus you pick up new info at all 3 sites, as well as meet new RR fans.I think it is worth pointing out that many posters and moderators post at all three sites nowadays, Which I think is great!

I had the feeling our 'holy' Des didn't like another forum would rise.Trigger wrote:thats OKcableguyxx wrote:Ian, that is a complete falsehood. I was just giving what I believe to be the reason and making sure that the timeline informs to the best of my/everyone’s knowledge. Due to the fact you were not a mod then and we were never given a reason my thoughts are as valid as yours on what and who lay behind it
