I can imagine Little Dolls could have been a good live song, especially given the raucous drum into. Could have been a good song to start back into after Suicide Solution. It also would have been a chance for Randy to do something with the solo that never was. Time-wise, I think it would have fit best into their set as well. I think YCKRR would have been a bit long for a live song.

My guess is YCKRR, would be a great live song! (imo)
And I think SATO would sound great too!

I find it amazing how everyone here (minus me, and a couple others) think that YCKRNR or Tonight would have been the next song on the list.

Whenever i hear these songs, i just can't imagine them having been done live. Maybe it's just me....

I could,I am not 100% but it was sorta implied in Rudys book that they had (learned/rehearsed) the rest of Diary aside from DOAMM being used for the intro music.Imagine w/Don Aiery they couldve done virtually anything,he & Randy had great chemesty together.Ozzy simply was "out to lunch"(mentaly) and couldnt be bothered to re-learn lyrics,so they decided on OTM as opener since Ozzy had a hard time with the high notes.

I know what you mean Cryptic, but look what Randy did wlive versions if I Dont Know.Crowley,GTR,Revelation,They could done them songs Awsome live, how great that would have been.

I wish it would have been S.A.T.O., that is one of the most bad-ass songs Ozzy has ever done. I heard Ozzy do Diary live with Joe Holmes and that would have been killer also. I am actually surprised they never did You Can't Kill R&R live, it seems like that song would have fit so well.

One of the things I always think of is what Randy wouls have added for fills in the clean parts of yckrr. There is no doubt I think that would have been the song picked if it came down to it. There are some high parts but only during the chorus, yckrr would have been easier for ozzy to sing than alot of the songs they were playing already.

I amazes me they wrote the songs and then decided they could not play them. I mean, if you could not play them you would not have come up with the. In the first place right? Ya, some songs just really can't be done live but with don airey there or any keyboardest they could pretty much duplicate anything that was done in the studio. When they were writing these songs also there has to be recordings of them and i would say that is what Bob dasily referrs to when he has all this stuff we have never heard. There is basically a live version of every song out there in there earliest forms.

I always figured the limiting factor on what songs were performed live was how Ozzy's voice was holding up at the time, even after BOO and DOAM, on the BATM tour they started out doing Rock-n-Roll Rebel, albiet tuned down a half step, but then later dropped it altogether. They performed "Never" what maybe 3 times, and both of those were arguably the strongest songs on BATM and TUS (arguably, BATM is a great song), but both were obviously hard for Ozzy to sing night after night. They could have picked any song from Diary and it would have been great, as that is such a killer record from start to finish.

Is Peter M the man behind this "new" footage Ozzy

Post by DMRX »

I know, like I'll get a real answer, but that photo of him & Ozzy shows up
very close to the time of Ozzys Twitter.Ozzy just said (some guy) showed him the footage .
If it really is the Palladium ,I wonder if both sets were filmed.
How amazing would that be!They were on Fire that night (even Ozzy)
Anybody know which set was the available footage from?

that would make sense also, pick the best version from each show and make it into a film

To me it doesn't make sense if only one Palladium show was filmed.

DOAMM-songs were just too tough for Ozzy, I guess... He should´ve sang them higher than his voice could bend or something like that... I mean, as good as Ozzy still is- he can´t sing Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Hole in the sky in their original pitch.... He´s still quite good, to be honest. Charismatic too...
