I hope and believe we will still get the doc, and it will be a very enjoyable thing. Regardless of all the squabbles and power grabs with the those involved(which kind of explains why it's been so long since any of this was ever even attempted), I think ultimately it will be a great story. If what Pat says comes to be true(which I doubt) and the O's somehow make a deal with Dakota for the film in it's current state, they will basically be starting from scratch, and it'll be another 2 or 3 years. All of this back and forth he said/she said is meaningless and doesn't do anything positive. I want to see the final product(s). So with that said, It'll be like Christmas if we get some sort of competition with the O's to come up with something even better, and they pull new footage out of their asses. The rest of the continuing drama is just that and it's getting really old. My wish is for a completed film, AND new Randy footage to go with whatever Ozzy will be offering up later this year.

Of course we want it all!
But nothing can compete with a full '81 pro live show (imo), the O's don't have to worry about that!
If the Rhoads want to stop the doc to be released then I think a deal between the O's and Dakota is likely, because someone have to pay for all the work they put into it. The Rhoads probably need the O's for that. If they make a deal with dakota then I don't think it will take another 3 years to add a couple interviews to come along with that '81 show. Anyway I hope the interview with Pete Mertons will see the light anyways.

I agree with Dutchman, I think that UR may have played a role. An insider like David Tangye confirming that a show was filmed was a huge step forward.
As others have pointed out, the Osbournes would have used this film long ago, so I'm thinking this tape was never in their possession until now. I suspect that the story behind this tape would make a 'movie-of-the-week' all on its own

I was suprised when the interview was posted here nobody noticed about what he said about that footage! After all these years finally we got a word from someone and nobody seemed to notice! Lots of people are reading here, so there is a chance things started rolling because of the talk here. Who knows?

I think it's been in their possesion for already decades but they didn't want to step on someone's toes..... All that trouble with the doc caused the 'guard' eventually giving 'green light' to the Osbournes. Because after 3 years there was some 'pressure' to come up with something right? And what could they do if they weren't happy with the doc......? Only the O's could solve this so they are involved now. And if there wasn't all that trouble with that doc this may never happened....... That 'news report' footage is nice but it's just the tip of the iceberg I guess. The O's have a LOT more....... also with Bob & Lee. (my feeling, can't prove it...)

btw I think the O's would never give a full show to Peter just to be released by him and not by themselves. No way......

If it's straight from the mastertape (and what we have now isn't) then 'technically' Ozzy's announcement about 'unseen' footage is still right......

Man,I dont know what to think.I think mabey Kevin DuBrow was right!!!Unfortonatly,But its like They(the powers that be) want Randy to be portrayed a certin way,& athough he wasnt anything but a nice guy to all who knew/met him,He was by no means a Saint or at least the "Saint" theyre portraying.I mean Who could ever even possibly live up to that?????????

let me answer this thread with a YES. i have basicly uncovered the collecter (bill Shelley (super nice guy)) and his saying that he worked with ozzy and sharon and has multiple concerts. dont let this get out too much i dont want to be the leak and jeprodise the footage, but it certainly exists.

To be honest this thread has an even longer history, I think it was started somewhere in 2003 at .tk by a member called 'Lars'. (who remember him...? ) Also there it developed into a big fascinating thread with lots of interesting info, unfortunately it was lost with the hack there. When I joined UR I took it to here and asked to get it 'sticky' to keep attention. I told Trig it was TOP PRIORITY! Yep I feel there is lots of stuff out there, to me it was (is ) always a matter of 'when' instead of 'if'. I just never could except that infamous comment "nothing was filmed", we'll see..... Of course the 'crusade' is not over yet!
