To answer "Phineas J", no, I haven't seen any other Randy/Ozzy stuff apart from what everyone else has seen. The Madison Square Garden show in April, 1982 (w/Bernie), or at least some of it, was filmed as a one-camera proshot. That is fact. The point I'm making is just because something is not widely available yet doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't exist. But yeah, I get that it's frustrating. I'm trying to keep our spirits up without giving false hope!
I know there is footage that we will see. I guess all the talk a few months back about Pro Shot Blizzard stuff and Diary footage from "those brothers" got me interested for the first time in a while. Was all that talk bullsh1t or what? A few guys were bantering about who the sources of this footage was and then POOF! no more info.

Plus, it doesnt look like the doc made Sundance this year, which only delays things further. I suspect that the Rhoads family and those folks associated with the film are under an explicit gag order. PM hasnt said anything since trailer-gate. I cant blame him, but it would be nice to have an "official" teaser about the doc contents.

Didn't all that "there will be a pro-shot dvd coming out with the documentary" emanate from Romeo Rose?

Not trying to put a damper on things, but I just don't see anything being 'officially' released any time soon. This documentary fiasco is proof that trying to go through the legal hoops isn't worth the end result for those who may have something.

Understood. You are probably right about the legal route. Anything anyone tries to sell will have to go through or around the Osbournes. The average dude with old footage is likely to be afraid of having it in the first place and wont share or sell it in fear of being sued.

Now I am really bummed! :(

A fair question DMRX,

To answer: two news broadcasts in Buffalo, NY, used film from the MSG show as part of their segments on Ozzy's upcoming concert in that town the same month. It literally has 'Madison Square Garden' written across the bottom of the screen.
The footage shows the opening intro tape sequence where you see Ozzy and Rudy come onto the stage: you don't actually get to see Bernie because of where the camera was placed. There's also a little bit of 'Over The Mountain'. As to whether the entire show was captured as a momento for Ozzy, or whether it was just a local news deal where they had permission to film like 2-3 songs, I just don't know.
Can someone please tell me exactly what technology I need to upload footage as a digital file? I'm not sure if I've got the stuff needed. If I can't, then I could snail mail the tape of the news broadcasts to someone on the forum who can do it.

Gus, is it actually a digital file already, or do you need to have it converted from VHS or DVD to your computer first?

Cableguyxx,

Yeah, it's still actually on a VHS tape. Long story short: it's in NTSC, the standard here (in Australia) is PAL, so I can put it onto DVD, but it will push the bottom margin upwards a bit. If I do put it on DVD, do I then just extract it from the DVD and onto my computer? Sorry about my lack of awareness - just never needed to upload footage before.

No problem Gus. First of all, thank you for the effort. 2nd, if you ever want it it converted in NTSC, I will do it for you, but honestly, for what it would cost in shipping to the US, you can probably have it converted locally (I had a PAL concert converted to NTSC DVD for less than $30). 3rd, and this is for anyone else interested in DVD ripping, this software ( http://www.winxdvd.com/giveaway/ )works awesome. The options for size and format are great, and best of all, it's FREE for the next two weeks 8) You can copy the VOB files directly from the DVD you create/have created, but the files will be large. With the DVD ripper, you can change the final output window size and type, thus greatly reducing the output file size, and upload/download time.

OK. I'll get onto this. It might take a week or two to get the bases covered, but I'll post when it's ready.

Gus wrote: I have a question for The Flying Dutchman. You spoke a while ago of how Lintball's uncle may have footage from several concerts, and that the Texas soundcheck was to "test the waters". I'm assuming that the waters were OK, as in he didn't get sued! Do you know if some more stuff may be coming from him or his relative?
I have no idea, never heard back from him. Maybe the "testing the waters" didn´t go well though? Hard to tell....

Unfortunately no.
The best clue we have from existing Blizzard Po shot is this one from Dave Tangye:
Dave Tangye wrote:I know that there was a film recording on the first US Tour, New Jersey or ST Louis show, I am not sure. Not even sure if it ever was released.
This could be:
May 22nd - Checkerdome, St. Louis, MO ~ Blizzard of Ozz Tour

Okay, I have a question: Why is the initial question about pro shot footage? Wouldn't we all be happy with amateur footage that is in focus as well?

I recently came across two full shows by Mother Love Bone that had been filmed by someone in the crowd. I've looked for years for film of them and had only found on piece of footage - which was cool, but not the greatest. Now I've found two full shows - one of which I had attended! Amazingly, the guy who uploaded this stuff is a 22-year-old from Lima, Peru!

Now, MLB was 6 or 7 years after Randy died, but the same possibility exists - that some kid who wasn't even around at the time (or was just a baby) will come forward with something awesome, and it'll appear on YouTube!

Paul, you bring up a very excellent and overlooked (well maybe not completely overlooked) point in all of this, any previously unknown footage of Randy, especially quality footage, would be something to be cherished by all Randy fans. And it will probably happen just the way you described the shows you found, someone will find some long lost tape somewhere and put it up on YouTube.

Right on!
To be honest I had changed the topic title about a year ago because of exactly the same reason, but after the crash it was made undone. Changed it again.
