Do you think more Randy Rhoads footage exists?

I sure hope there is something,I mean that soundheck footage sufaced over 20 years after Randy died, and the quality is FANTASTIC!!!!!! I really cant see why they wouldnt have taped at least one song for the news or whatever the "Ozzy interview" was used for, just think if that show surfaces, even just one camera that show was like within a month of Randys death & they didnt have the "Castle" to fight with So im not totally sure, but I do believe that whatever exsists(the Brothers Diary footage & such) was aqquired by Peter for the Documentary & he probably paid well for it too.in the Kelle Rhoads interview he confirms that there is "New" footage of Randy & Ozzy and im pretty sure that its more than the ET footage which we all know was aquirred & reguardless of anyones feelings about PM or the Documentary that in itself is quite a Feat!!!!
i thinks theres more pro shot but i also think theres more bootleg video than pro..i believe theres alot of backstage home and soundcheck footage thats waiting to see the light of day..think about it,who the hell would have been able to see randy in action and not go fuck let me tape this!? its out there but we can only hope to see such things..
i also noticed on the texas soundcheck theres a tape in the deck.so you can see they were taping everything..either on video or audio..its just hard to believe with randy's ability and stage presence that sharon would not push for the extra money to showcase ozzy with his kickass guitar player.just my opinion...
Way back in a 1981 interview with 'Record Review' Ozzy stated that some of the shows (U.S. Blizzard tour) were being recorded for a live album. The original idea, before SOTD ended up as all Sabbath songs, was to release a live album mainly of Ozzy's solo stuff. This gives me hope because back then bands would tend to film a concert/s that was going to serve as the basis of a planned live album. eg. Van Halen planned a live album from their '83 South American tour. The live album never surfaced, but eventually video of these concerts did.
i REMEMBER THAT rECORD REVIEW" ARTICLE,i USED TO HAVE IT & CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE i HOPE i STILL HAVE IT SOMEWHERE,i HAVENT REALLY SEEN IT ANYWHERE ELSE AS IT WAS AN ENGLISH MAGAZINE.
AS FOR THE SOUNDCHECK,I NOTICED THE TAPE TOO.TOMMY SAID HE HAD A BOX OF TAPES OFF THE BOARD,IM SURE THEY RECORDED A DIRECT MIX OFF THE BOARD EVERY NIGHT THEY PLAYED AS CASSETTES WERE AFFORDABLE,AS FOR ANY PROSHOT FOOTAGE THAT EXSISTS THE SOUND IS PROBIBLY JUST A STEREO 2 TRACK OFF THE BOARD AND MOST NIGHTS OZZY HAD PROBLEMS WITH VOCALS,TRIBUTE WAS ACTUALLY FROM A MULTI-TRACKED 16-24 TRACK 1 OR 2 INCH TAPE WHERE THEY COULD RERECORD OZZYS VOCALS ON THEIR OWN TRACK
THATS PROBABLY WHY THATS ALL THAT WAS RELEASED ON TRIBUTE BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE HEARD BETTER SOUNDING PERFORMANCES FROM RANDY BUT THEY WERNT MULTI-TRACKED,THATS PROBIBLY WHY AFTERHOURS WAS NEVER OFFICIALLY RELEASED,THHE PART BEFORE THE SOLO IN CRZY TRAIN OZZYS VOICE FALLS OUT & THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FROM ONE OF OZZYS RECORDS.
I JUST LOOKED UP & NOTICED THE CAPS LOCK WAS ON SORRY GUYS.
JUST LISTEN TWO A SONG OR TWO FROM THE SPEAK OF THE DEVIL/DIARY OF A MADMAN TOUR VIDEO W/BRAD GILLIS
OZZYS VOICE IS "ABSOULUTLEY AMAZING!!!!!!!"
HE OBVIOUSLY HAD RE-RECORDED THOSE BECAUSE AT THAT TIME SHORTLY AFTER RANDYS DEATH OZZY WAS A WRECK & HIS PERFORMANCE IS JUST AWSOME ONE OF HIS BEST (IMHO)

Yes DMRX, you are probably spot on about stuff not being released due to "artistic reasons". eg. The Passaic show that I spoke of was probably filmed in black and white, like all filmed concerts from that venue. But I wish those with the power would be inspired by the Lynyrd Skynyrd "Freebird" movie. They put some sort of disclaimer on it, saying basically that the footage is rare, so please accept that it might have some flaws. Ask LS fans about that documentary: they LOVE it! They couldn't care less if some of the film is B & W, or if the audio mix isn't flawless the whole way through. I'm fairly sure most of us would have a similar vibe on any new footage of Randy Rhoads.

I'm pretty sure Ironface over at tk has completely debunked the possibility of the Passaic show having been filmed. If you do a search over there you'll find loads of background.
As for the article discussing a pro-shot show, they did plan and shoot one for MTV. The problem is that Randy died before it took place.
I have the full DVD with the soundcheck footage and there is a shot of the soundboard with a cassette tape. I brought up the possibility of the show being taped years ago and the thought was brought up that the cassette could have been for the intro music played at the beginning of the show. No one knows for sure, since no tape has surfaced of that show, but I thought I'd put that out there.

I think the best stuff of Randy and Ozzy is the hands of Sharon and Ozzy. We have heard the rumors of new pro shot stuff being out there, and even being included in the documentary, but I still think the Osbournes will keep what they have until the supposed "changing of the guard."
If there is pro shot concert footage in the doc it will likely be in small clips where Ozzy doesnt sound like complete crap. The Ozzy camp wont release a non-doctored dvd, period. Ozzy was a mess a lot of the time back then.
Back around the time when "trailer-gate" happened (earlier in this thread), there was good talk/speculation about pro shot Blizzard footage and fan shot Diary stuff. Since there has been no "insider" talk or even a mention of it. It leads me to think that it was all BS. I hope not, but for most fans the footage is what we want to see.
Can anyone here definitively confirm the existence of the Blizzard pro shot or the Diary stuff? I mean actually have seen it to exist? Not " a friend of my cousins, brothers, roadie !!!!"

That is really disappointing if Ironface is right about Passaic. There were other venues back then with a similar setup, but Randy didn't get to play at them. eg. The Ritz, NY; Houston Summit; the Capitol, at Largo, MD.
I have a question for The Flying Dutchman. You spoke a while ago of how Lintball's uncle may have footage from several concerts, and that the Texas soundcheck was to "test the waters". I'm assuming that the waters were OK, as in he didn't get sued! Do you know if some more stuff may be coming from him or his relative?

"Lintball" most likely didn't have anything else. The soundcheck stuff was on a DVD with interviews of Ozzy, Rory Gallagher, SRV... I think he happened across it and took advantage of a rare find. He disappeared - never to be heard from again - as soon as all the copies of his DVD sold for $40 a piece.
On the topic of being frustrated, it was mentioned in a magazine back in the 80s that MTV had intended to film Ozzy and Foreigner at the Tangerine Bowl on March 20. Yep, literally one day late.
To answer "Phineas J", no, I haven't seen any other Randy/Ozzy stuff apart from what everyone else has seen. The Madison Square Garden show in April, 1982 (w/Bernie), or at least some of it, was filmed as a one-camera proshot. That is fact. The point I'm making is just because something is not widely available yet doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't exist. But yeah, I get that it's frustrating. I'm trying to keep our spirits up without giving false hope!
