I had lowered the front abit and had some Centerlines on it. I sold it for $500 I'll post a picture of it when I find one.

After reading Zakkattack’s opinion that the VW busses look like something you should avoid in the Amazon, it got me thinking! When VW designed their early vehicles they looked at practicality before beauty and so the only alterations to the year models were things to improve safety, comfort, fuel and economy. VW knew that the US sales market would be hard to crack as US buyers expected big cars with plenty of chrome and lots of new models year after year. What VW, and the advertising agency they employed to market VW in America, did was to make fun of the ugly VW models and use negative advertising. This was the first time a huge company had ever used the mundane, negative and dull to market their product and the result has made the Beetle the best selling car in history and their other ranges of air-cooled pre-1976 cars and busses the most desired, valuable and loved vehicles on the planet today.
This is an extract from the book called “Remember those great Volkswagen ads?â€ÂÂ

My mom had a VW Rabbit. She could put our family of 9 into it when we were young. Before there were real safety laws she would put 3 kids in the trunk (which flipped down) 4 in the back seat and 3 in the front. Those were the days. She went on to get the 84' Jetta, '86 Jetta, Corado, Sciracco. Just about anything VW we would get. They were terrific on gas (ie., 50+ for the '86 Turbo Diesel Jetta). Randy's car was a Jetta I believe...
